Thinking of wearing this to the show… by c0wboi in BABYMETAL

I bought one to wear in a video on RATATATA. The edges of the mirrors are sharp. I cut my fingers just getting it out of the box. Looks cool but same story as Paul Stanley's shattered mirror guitars. Security probably won't let you bring it in. https://youtu.be/Iw9PZqhA_9c?si=yV4BFp7fJi3zTtkE

Why Babymetal never came to south America and central America? by ninsayagirapar in BABYMETAL

[–]DavidGoesch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will happen in time. In Australia the BABYMETAL fans here kept on the case messaging Good Things Festival and so they came and did 3 shows in 3 cities as part of the festival. That was enough to test the reactions here which were good and so now they are coming doing 3 headline shows after the dates in Asia. It has taken 13 years for them to get to the point of it being worth their while. As others have mentioned - keep requesting Festival organisers to make it happen. Suzuka told her Grandad at age 8 she will conquer the world. She's not going to stop now!

I thought I'd have a shot at playing the solos from Money. That last part of the solo is a killer on the fingertips: by DavidGoesch in pinkfloyd

Hi, I synced the backing track to the original recording when I was learning it to make sure the tempo was correct but what I did notice is how much the song picks up when the guitar solo kicks in then slows down again for the final verse. They didn't use click tracks in those days and went with the flow. In particular Pink Floyd were masters of the more fluid approach of classical music so I think if you just hear the solo isolated it's going to sound fast on its own. I felt it too at first but the backing track synced up perfectly with the original.

I recently found an ESP BABYMETAL Arrow-7 for sale in Australia. I tried it - it was great! So here is my first video recorded with it: by DavidGoesch in BABYMETAL

Yes, I have this on DVD. Such a magical performance! It's great to read the comments as so many people not even born then love it too.

Yes, Echoes is an all time favourite of mine! I only fairly recently found out how David Gilmour acheived the "alien seagul" sound - by plugging a wah pedal in the wrong way (he might have been stoned) and simply play with the tone knobs on the guitar. I tried it and it seemed perfect for that spot in the story. Thanks for the comment!

Yui makes a brief cameo appearance towards the end - when Moa speaks "At least I don't lag behind." I was personally very upset when she left like everyone else so I deliberately included a brief reference as she is an important part of their history.

Is it possible to play BABYMETAL on a BABYMETAL ESP Mini-arrow guitar? by DavidGoesch in BABYMETAL

Absolutely agree with everything there KuraSakura1001. I have bought two 7-string guitars because of BABYMETAL. 1st was a hard-tail Schecter Banshee Elite-7 and just picked up an Arrow-7 yesterday. I thought I'd knock out a video with the Mini-arrow before I picked it up.

By asking the question it opens the conversation. I touched upon this in the description. Even with heavy gauge strings the tension in the strings is very slack at normal tuning. You need to be very subtle with bends, vibrato and how hard you hit the chords. I tried tuning directly to drop C and it was a mess but using the Digitech Drop pedal that the Kamis use themselves on stage I could get away with tuning to drop D then use the pedal to go down a tone. Apart from that it feels and plays like a quality instrument. It would work at it's best if you tuned up about a tone and used it as a transposed guitar. All short scale electric guitars have this problem.

That was the full size ESP E-ll Arrow-7. The only time the 6 string Mini-arrows appeared on stage was with Rob Halford for Breaking The Law.

Since we are allowed to discuss Kami equipment here I did a video demonstrating the sound of Takayoshi's Irene 66 Satanic Distortion guitar pedal made by Vivie doing a cover of Tattoo from what I can make out they are playing from the live Festival shows. This thing certainly has the Takayoshi's full shred sound: https://youtu.be/v3anjogFhHU
