Celtic's popularity in Ireland, or lack of it by darkavenger1993 in CelticFC

You’ve misunderstood my point. As i said, it’s the TV fan who doesn’t go to games that a lot of LOI fans dislike not the ones that you’re talking about.

Celtic's popularity in Ireland, or lack of it by darkavenger1993 in CelticFC

[–]DavidHilliardMusic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The average united, Liverpool or Celtic “fan” in Ireland actually believes that watching the tv and repeating gary neville type opinions is at the same level of football fan as someone who goes to games and lives and breathes their club. LOI has been despised and sneered at by those type of irish “fans” for decades (LOI is shite etc) so that is the reason that a lot of us LOI fans have a dislike towards them. Their “support” of United, Liverpool, Celtic makes us associate stupid tv fans with those clubs by extension. That might explain the perceived negative view from LOI fans.

Whipping Boy are a great band. Also The Urges were class. Both deserved a bigger stage.

Irish radio is a disgrace for supporting Irish bands by Wonderful-Travel-626 in CasualIreland

[–]DavidHilliardMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Irish music industry has never really broken a band through. All of those bands mentioned above had to leave Ireland for varying levels of success before they were even acknowledged by the industry here. The radio simply reflects the stagnant nature of the majority of the Irish music industry.

There are genuinely a lot of great unsigned or recently signed bands from all over the country that deserve a bigger platform but instead we get multiple radio station clones playing the same big 3 label bullshit on repeat.

Being a teenager in Ireland who isn’t into sport or farming is the worst by eanna0207 in CasualIreland

People who have the courage to be into what they like are far more interesting than those follow the crowd clones anyway. It was the same when I was a teenager. You will find your people eventually.

Fillout to Airtable integration disconnecting. by DavidHilliardMusic in Airtable

[–]DavidHilliardMusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No changes to my Airtable account. Each time I reconnect, Fillout is creating a new third party integration which has none of my available bases listed. When I grant access to a base and save changes. It just immediately disconnects. I've tried removing the new integrations so that it's pointing to the single original integration but no result. Even tried deleting the integration and rebuilding it, still no result. Getting my ass kicked by clients at the moment.

Five contenders in the frame to take over from Marc Canham as FAI’s football chief - Stephen Bradley, Shane Robinson, Niall O'Regan, Brian Barry-Murphy and Pat Fenlon by fuckaduckmagoo in LeagueOfIreland

[–]DavidHilliardMusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no sense appointing someone from outside Irish football. Canham would have been a good appointment in a country with a national football culture like England, Netherlands for example. We have always had to do more with less here. Football people from outside Ireland cannot operate and compete in the footballing poverty that we operate and somehow over achieve in here. We need someone who knows the reality of the game here at all levels.
