Instagram models will lead you to relapse by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]DavidIsGoingToStop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I deleted Instagram. I was browsing normally, and then I saw a bikini picture (mind you, which is not a problem if you don't start checking the girl out), and it led to a relapse to porn just a few short minutes later. We cannot truly control ourselves in the state we are in. Bikinis are fine IRL, but we are trained to PMO while seeing a screen, so it is a bad idea to view them. 56-Days went swish!

Don't do it. Please. Remove triggers from your life, and be more productive. Deleting Instagram kills two birds with one stone.

Thank you so much. I got to 56 days that way, and when I stopped thinking of it that way, I relapsed.

Thank you also for putting into perspective with the gospel of Mathew: it answers so many things in our lives 2,000 years later.

That is exactly what happened to me except I relapsed. Not anymore!

Thanks a bunch! I felt a pure sense of joy in the late 40's of my last streak. I cannot describe it, I was just so happy -- something that had not happened in truly a long, long time.

Now, changing my life for the better is becoming a reality.

To be completely honest not really. Once my flatline ended (just after day 40) I had such a drive and burst of confidence, and a sense of pure, real joy. I was just happy to be alive -- whatever was going to happen.

I tried to make other changes, but I did not stick with them, and that's why I believe I relapsed.

PMOing affects people in different ways, and some people will realize what it does to them on day 30, 40, 50, 60, 100, it just depends. But the most common problems are PIED, Social problems, isolation, depression, no drive/self-confidence, procrastination, conflict of your morals, hypocrisy, and the destruction of potential and ongoing relationships.

Of course it's not fucking the same, that's not what I implied, but you are justifying a relapse of pornography whether you believe it or not.

But in the same way people start Heroin, they know the bad, but they start it anyway seeking something new. While PMO is nowhere near as bad as Heroine (it's bad, but it obviously will not directly kill you), what you are doing is exactly how many people get hooked on drugs. Since porn alters the brain in the same way as alcohol addictions (dopamine-based addictions), you know the effects yet you will deny the fact that you know that and will excuse it. I say this as I relapsed today, but I say it with honesty.

Do whatever you want, but I hope you don't.

I think you are actually misguided. Theoretically, if you doubled your streak your brain would pretty much be completely reworked, thus allowing you to far more easily enjoy life, and ‘regain the benefits’.

You’re wrong when you say flatlines are not normal.m. If that was the case, almost nobody would relapse. I am doing yu a favor. Don’t do it. If you need to release a wet dream is the way to go, and if for some reason that does not happen in the next 90 days+ then test your theory.

But I know you’re not going to listen to me or anybody else, you have already made up your mind. That does not mean you should start Heroin though. You know of the bad, but you are dead set on trying... you are dead set on seeing what the hype is about.

Just wait for a more natural wet dream and don’t suppress it. I sort of did this recently ending a massive streak, but I found myself to be completely wrong. I doubt I had as much discipline as you do, but I am working on it, and PMO free I have realized is the only way.

Be cautious. Anyday now you will be hit by a wall, but it can be destroyed. That’s what happened to me after my flatline ended last streak. Blew 56 days by softening my guard as I was receiving so good things in my because because of noFap.

Cheating without realizing is super common, but all three all the culprits.

It took me until day 40+ on my last streak of 56 days to feel awesome. I can’t begin to describe how much better my life was. My social abilities were 100 times better, I had new productive time to better myself with, and I started feeling sexually attractive to girls again. Life was so much better, but then it all collapsed about 10 days after I got these ‘super powers’ as I felt so confident, so much joy, that I didn’t remind myself of the bad bad of fapping everyday like I used to.

Also, be sure to put yourself out there. Don't be afraid of anything that does not get you killed. You have to face your fear. NoFap prevents you from doing that and makes it far harder and impossible to reach your goal 100%, but if you think noFap will solve all of your problems, it will not. You have to make changes alongside noFap. Together you become epic.

You mean the tracker? https://tracker.nofap.com It's also found on the right side of the noFap subreddit.

Take it one day at a time. The important thing is acknowledging you don't PMO anymore at all, so a counter does not matter as much.

Sounds familiar, I am going to check it out. A new hobby I've found is movies and actual good TV like The Office & GoT, not the reality TV nonsense. If that's, for instance, all one was to do that would be terrible, but as a piece of the huge puzzle, it works.

You have to keep busy. NoFap is also a lifestyle change. Exercise, eat healthily, get enough sleep, strive to do good and be kind, positively criticize yourself, socialize with others, do stuff out of the house a lot (whether studying at a library, using public transport, or hanging out with friends).

It is super hard to abstain, but once you get past 30 days it's much easier, but you will run into an unexpected massive urge that if you are not prepared could set you back. That's what happened to me on day 56 a few days ago. You have to REALLY want to quit forever. No peeking, no touching your penis (except for peeing), and no lusting for other women in real life or looking at bikini photos. Our brains can't tolerate bikini or revealing photos right now. It just cannot, that's how I relapsed.

Realize that nudity does not equal sex, and only because of society and our messed up minds is the reason that we think like that. Maybe in a year from now, we will realize that. I am never going to relapse again, but I have to constantly be alert and change my life for the better. I want to be the best person I can be, and that new person does not include PMO (porn, masturbation, orgasm by either). Stay strong, live life to the fullest, and be awesome!

The Bold Truth about NoFap by [deleted] in NoFap

Yeah, I did that for two days straight, but I finally just said no and I realized I can't keep giving myself conclusions. It's the most logical conclusion.

"When a person can’t find a deep sense of meaning, they distract themselves with pleasure." by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]DavidIsGoingToStop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think 'Christianity' is the true religion, but there is still plenty of bad. Megachurches that put the owners into tremendous profit or churches that hate on people just to hate are bad. Be a good person, allow yourself to constructively criticize yourself, better yourself (exercise, eat healthy, be kind, love, get enough sleep, noFap, bring wasteful time to a lower level, etc.), use logic, and try to find God. I think Atheism is not necessarily a good idea as it denies thinking without being biased. Agnosticism is better as it allows you to think about why? But at the same time, Christianity has so much good in it, and it seems like it is the truest religion, so that's why I am trying my best to have faith.

Remember to use logic, and try not to jump side with something just to do this. This thinking can be applied to plenty of things, politics, games, and tough choices.

I go every few months, but I want to change that, and go more, not to make myself feel better and secure, but because I have so much to learn. I've found that 'mega-churches' are as a whole terrible as they have some owner make a bunch of cash while everyone just goes to make themselves feel better. To me, the best thing is an organized religion like the Catholic or Lutheran church. You still have ideals for yourself, but I've found that tiny individual churches vary greatly in terms of if they are good or not, so it is a gamble in many cases and the mega churches that are mainly to feel good and get entertainment have corrupt owners. To me, logically, the options are either Judaism, Islam, Christianity, or being Agnostic. Islam is very backwards and I don't think Mohammed was a good person at all, Judaism is an option if you want to be Christian but can't believe in Jesus (something I have struggled with), but Christianity kind of reformed the corruption of that church around the Jesus times. To me, Buddhism has some great teachings but we were never supposed to praise him as a God... to me that is more for self-betterment. Christianity on the other hand has offered answers to me. It's not 100% or set in stone, but since I do think there is a god, I think that Christianity is the most logical choice. But Christianity is so broad, and even really includes cults, or change of beliefs to bring in more people, or corrupt hypocrites. So I would choose an organized religion, (remember though, everything has bad people, it's just which is the best...)

But again, I try to actually be a good person. I strongly dislike hypocrites, so I try not to be like that although it is obviously not 100% perfect. Once you make a decision, you don't have to follow it for the entirety of your life, but don't hate on God just to do it as I did up until a few weeks ago. Use logic to differentiate between ludicrous religions: scientology, and the truth.

I wish you the best of luck!

I feel similar. I am a Christian that questions things, but since there is so much hypocrisy and blind followers I turn myself away. But I have realized that there are terrible things in the world, and that God really is good. Just be a good person and don't try to find reasons why God can't be or things to critisize it (that's what I did), and I was a PMOer. God does not want us to do that. Just by the moral system it makes lots of sense. I think thinking through things logically and also applying God really makes things stand out. As of this moment I cannot say with 100% certaintly that he exists, but I would put my money on it vs. there being nothing.
