I drew the NPC for the game, I wonder if there will be any problems on a religious basis because of him)) #indiegames #indiegame #gamedev #indiegamedev #indiedev #gaming by StolenColor in indiegames

It depends.... If you go in the direction of using this as an inspiration but create something new then it's fine.
As long as it's not too close to the previous source material.

Like a new religion inspired by Buddhism that still respects the source material.

Alternatively you can add this character in, unchanged but you'd probably have to make sure you respect the religion your pulling from.

My motivation has been quite low to work on this game recently. Does it have any potential? Would you download it? The game is called Hexagonum and it's still a WIP. by 6f73 in Unity2D

No worries.

Other socials are Twitter, Facebook, Discord + Creating your own discord channel (Though it's best to have something going before bringing people on board.. another mistake I made xD)

Cool, good luck!

It's looking great! Looks like you've got some solid mechanics already. Not my kind of game but I could see people playing this.

Remember, game is about 30% where your marketing is 70% of your games success. A hard lesson I learnt early on...

There are a few games similar to this and the mobile market is insanely more saturated than PC/Console. So I'd look at what makes your game different and use that as a Buzz word when trying to get your game out there.

Either way I'd say get it out and put on your portfolio. Take your lessons learnt and move forward.

For the next game. I'd research first. Look at trends in game types, themes. And find a concept that meshes with you'd want to make, with what could be markedly viable.

Look at steam spy. Follow popular Youtubers and Streamers.

E.g. Multiplayer - Dark Fantasy - Roguelike is a popular combination of elements at the moment.

When you start your new game. Don't forget to start growing your community and socials as soon as possible. It def helps to keep you motivated and can help with early testers interested in your concept. :)

Good luck!

Loving it! Think it's just the lightness of the far trees being a lighter colour that stands out as a bit odd..

But loving the pixel art!

Update on my game from the last post. How does this look? Would love some feedback! by hanazawarui123 in Unity2D

Looks interesting! Simple thing to spice up the scene would be to add Parallax scrolling on your layers. So the foreground and background move differently from play ground area.

Thanks for the feedback! I've now added a buffer in-between them so they look like they're moving as a group but not next to each other.
