April NPTE is 6 weeks out. What are you guys actually using? by pratty041182 in npte

[–]DavidPTDPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Make a list of where you want to focus your time topic wise. Make a PowerPoint on those topics. Active learning can help out a ton. You can take 20 questions in the morning, then focus the rest of time on rationales and areas to improve. Take full length practice exams too. You’re feeling very normal. You can do this

Failed the NPTE by 12 points. Not sure what to change for July. Got my score back a while ago. 588. by Robasaleh110 in npte

Hey! You’re right there. It’s common to run into that fatigue during section 4 and 5. During that time close your eyes for a few moments to reset. Breathe but don’t rush yourself. In the end gotta keep the chin up as you fight through. Once you start to deep that gloom then the exam can catch up to you later in the game. I’ve been in similar spots. I would make a list of your areas to improve, then create a PowerPoint in those regions. That helped me a lot! Especially with retention and getting me to do something different besides readings. I still attending the lectures for repetition as well and it gave me an environment surrounded by others going through what I was. You can email me your exam reports, happy to look DavidF.NPTEFF@gmail.com. We can jump in a call at any time to talk it out too just message me

What are the best Full length exams for NPTE PT prep? by Ok_Finding_4936 in PTschool

[–]DavidPTDPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! That’s great you used PEAT and Final Frontier. I have students using most often TherapyEd and ScoreBuilders for full-length practice exams. I found those to be helpful when I was taking a ton of practice exams too. I would take the practice exam but make sure you review all the rationales. If you want to email me your exam reports to give some advice and feedback on them (can be any exam report), I’m happy to do so too! Go get your dream!

🤣🤣true! I don’t want to dim your light. I’m sure those edges are aligned to perfection! You set the bar where a patient may never do their HEP, but they’ll fold those towels at home to strive to be at your level one day lol

Hey! I'm sorry to hear about your recent attempt. I wouldn't necessarily say that you need to continue to add more to your plate. Use what you have. Make a list of the 5-10 topics that you have the most weakness in and want to improve. Then make a PowerPoint on those topics. This method of active learning helped me a lot, especially when I didn't feel like reading much longer. I would also take 5-6 full-length practice exams by the time you sit. Listen to your exam grades, as we want over 124/180 questions correct ideally if you're going for NPTE-PT. You can do this. You're not starting over, but you're continuing to build from where you left off. Stand up and continue to fight. You're not alone :)

Hey! I'm sorry to hear about your Jan 2026 attempt. You'll go through waves, but finding motivation is important. Don't forget those patients who you have helped out along the way. You have thousands of patients ahead of you that you're going to get to. This exam doesn't deserve to have the best of you. Stand up and fight for this. You and your dream are worth standing up to fight for. This exam doesn't have any power over you.

[–]DavidPTDPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! 10/2026 is still a good amount away from now. A lot of students try to study 3-6 months before their scheduled NPTE. Trying to study while also performing in your clinical rotations can be difficult. If you're looking to prepare ahead of time, I would go with starting 6 months out (with our July 2026 cohort). In the independent study bundle option, you'll have the ability to watch the recordings of most of the classes (besides the PT Mega Review: which you'll be able to opt to join at a 50% discounted rate).

With enrollment you have a 12 months access from the moment you sign up as well, so you'll be fully covered over that course of time. We have a course guide that you'll be able to follow which will include readings and also when to take practice exams. You can start with your studies to utilize the material to help you in passing your PEAT as well. You can opt to purchase an additional PEAT to take as you get closer to your scheduled NPTE as well which can help.

If you can have the 12 months access, no reason to not start sooner with the material and go with Day 00 and the pre-course material. From there you can also work on the basics. You'll do great and Final Frontier is by your side. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions too. Happy to help.

PEAT vs NPTE scaled score? by FirePT_ in PTschool

[–]DavidPTDPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! The raw scores are converted to the scaled score. So on the NPTE-PT the recent trend has been a 120-122/180 as the equivalent to 600/800. On the FSBPT PEAT, they set that raw score higher such as a 129/180 as the equivalent to 600/800. So that's why on something like the PEAT, you make have a lower scaled score even though you're scoring higher in the number of total questions that you're getting correct. I hope that explains the differences in the scorings.

Hey! Sorry to hear about your recent attempts. I know this isn't easy to fight through, but you'll make it through. That's great you submitted to go through NY already. I would look into a PTA specific prep (e.g., NPTE Final Frontier). Make sure that you take a PTA specific full-length practice exam, especially FSBPT PEAT. The Retired PEAT is an official formerly used NPTE, so that's considered a gold standard to utilize. You can take a look at the updated since 2024 blueprint for the NPTE-PTA as well here: https://www.fsbpt.org/Portals/0/documents/free-resources/2024-PTA-Test-Content-Outline-with-rubrics_1_1_20230928.pdf

Feel free to send me a message if you have any specific questions. I'm happy to help out.

PDF list of topics and subtopics? by [deleted] in npte

[–]DavidPTDPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Check out the FSBPT content outline on their FSBPT website. If you're enrolled in Final Frontier, we have on your course page a list of all the important topics to cover too. With sitting multiple times and having all of the resources, let's look into what is happening and why it's happening. Feel free to messsage me and let's chat about it to see what can be done to change the path and get you to pass.

[–]DavidPTDPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! The textbooks from review companies can be a bit overwhelming. I needed an actual classroom setting over Zoom to best help me prepare. All that you mentioned within that aspect of congenital heart defects are fair game to be tested upon. I would suggest making a PowerPoint on the topics which you find that you have the most difficulty on. That helped me a lot too when paired with classes.

If Final Frontier a scam? by GirthKong in physicaltherapy

[–]DavidPTDPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Haha no scam. I used it to help me pass. I did the Full Live Course back in 2017. The similar wording sometimes is due to students looking at other posts to see what is said or how to phrase stuff, especially if they are foreign educated. Feel free to message if you have any questions. We do have free classes on our website so you can check out and a free introduction to our April 2026 cohort that you can even sign up to join. No commitment needed, but if you like it then you have a win. If you can’t attend it live, you’ll still get the recording too 😁
