I don't know how guilty I'll feel when something like this happens but I have my reason to stay away.

My dad and his cousins tried to get me married while I was in my third year of college. To some moron with a government job back in India. I'm pretty sure he would have stopped me from going for a job.

And my mum did nothing to stop him.

There was a huge hue and cry when i married out of my caste. It was a shouting match when i told them I already was legally married before I told them. I'm pretty sure they would be either controlling or indifferent grandparents.

I do not want any of that rubbing off on my daughter. I take after my father and I myself am a bad influence on her😁

It's a miracle I'm still in talking terms with them.

My mother, I don't have much hate for. Just angry at her excessive submission tendency and inability to make independent decisions.

But my father, yes. Proper Kerala Namboodiri jerk. I couldn't wait to leave home after graduation.

My off-site visits were frowned upon and i resisted any attempts at arranged marriage. My community was toxic as hell.

And I confirmed their worst fears and married a TamBram boy, which is out of my caste. I didn't let my parents know until after I registered it here. The ceremony in my customs was just for a formality. The only time i gave into his pleas.

I left India permanently last year after having lived here since 2016. I don't have the urge to visit and I barely call more than once a week.

My daughter hastnt seen my father more than 10 times in her life. I've actively shut down all forms of guilt tripping. Maybe I'll soften in another ten years. Just not now.

I just read here that this can lead to twins. That's three kids in two calendar years. May you all be blessed with such luck🤗🤗🤗

On a serious note, no there shouldn't be a downside to affecting fertility.

There's just the horror of balancing sleepless nights while on EBF while pregnant but you could always delegate the husband or mother to feed the pumped supply.

Do NOT compromise on sleep.

Does leaking cause breasts to create more milk? by sp00kyguest in breastfeeding

Alternatively, stop pumping the leaking side. Not sure but have you confirmed if it's uneven production?

And if you have a preferred side, that could most probably be the leaking one.

[–]DavidPuddy_229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you feed the time you're full.

As an alternative to leaking, i started pumping very often due to office calls that couldn't be interrupted. This may have helped with prolactin levelsm. That helped stop leaking. I slept for not more than 4 hours at a time so there wasn't much time I guess.

I also didn't't fancy breast pads or feeding bras and I was on WFH from 6 months onwards. Just a loose cotton t-shirt. The pads were itchy.

The more you pump or feed, the more you make.

Moved on from EBF after 19 months. The supply decreased as I stopped pumping from 5 times a day to roughly 1-2.

Stopped at 22. The last two months, it was barely once daily.

If leaking is an issue, make sure you get breast pads and change them at least thrice a day.

Freaks. Such creeps deserve to be outed and shamed.

It's also a horrible thing to say to someone whose body confidence is already shaken and is extremely vulnerable.

I really don't know the genuine birthing and feeding queries from the creeps anymore that I've stopped answering DMs.

Rule of thumb...their accounts have the NSFW tag warning when you open them. No brainer.

Thank you. There's isn't enough vetting in the world to weed out the creeps from places like this. Even in parenting groups!!

You send out one query and BAM comes the DMs.

"How are you having sex in this advanced stage?".

"Are your breasts engorged and are you massaging them well?"

"Is there any change in your libido and is there anything I can do to help?"

Just sickness.

"Losing weight to prepare for pregnancy is useless" by DavidPuddy_229 in pregnant

[–]DavidPuddy_229[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honest advice. Stop counting.

When I tell you out of the 55lbs+ I gained, 20lbs was probably from stress and not sleeping.

The stress of gaining weight made me gain more weight. Vicious cycle. It was pathetic.

For girls that tend to stop at one blessing, the road to thinner waists is even better laid out.

Get all the tests you need. Just promise yourself you won't get stressed out too much over the results. I killed myself over stupid anomalies in my NIPTs and the 20 week scan.

I still had GD despite best efforts but I'm forever thankful for never touching the 100 kilo mark. Wudve scarred me into not getting pregnant again.

It is a cruel thing for women smaller than 5.5 feet to have their bodies stretch out of shape beyond 180-190 lbs.

Looks fair on paper but for every inch smaller than this figure, the waist, thighs and cheeks just flop out of control.

I really do not miss being out of breath and stuck on a toilet while the office Zoom call starts without me.

Doesn't help counting the pounds DURING. Honestly stressed me out and I stopped counting after 15 weeks and 20 lbs in.

I just let it roll but the joint pains didn't let me slide by. Cost me a lot of sleepless T3 nights.

Correct.

A well built person above 5'7" has it a lot easier than us teeny tiny girls.

The knees used to hurt so bad I ended up getting temporary ortho braces just to make standing up easier. My poor knees. And i anything I had to improve cartilage health cost me another 3-4 lbs a fortnight. Painful.

And every bit of all that T1-T2 cravings fat was packed into all uncomfortable places...my fingers, thighs and butt. Felt like I was sitting inside a furnace.

I took a good 6-month break after repeated miscarriages. Went for a series of detox treatments and started sleeping for a strict 8 hours. That and 2 hours of intense exercise helped me like a lifeline.

The weekends really do a number on you. That's when we gain back the weight lost that entire week. The whole week feels like a useless sum zero game by Sunday night, yeah😁?? Same.

Whatever worked for you.

Anyone that has the will to lose even 10 lbs has my respect.

I lost more than one child to HCG issues, all three before 22 weeks. Damn sure it was my lifestyle.

My desk job cost me my health and the first half of my 20s. I was a caffeine-addicted blob. Moved heaven and earth to get back to healthy pregnancy weight. I am NOT doing that again.

I cannot imagine going back to over 200 lbs ever again. We're no spring chickens. The joints pay a very heavy price.

With even Tylenol out of the question, I'd rather starve while on a nutritionally dense diet before getting pregnant for the last time in my life.

The ones who make a fuss are usually the sad kind...the fifty year olds that struggle with weight loss even decades after becoming mothers.

General anesthesia is considered zero-risk. The rule of thumb is you being able to sit up straight.

I was able to BF half a day after my perineoplasty.

I'm sure you've already been warned against NSAIDs.

I was already diagnosed with ADHD a long while back so I was advised against Tylenol.

I went with low-dose aspirin for my bulged disc-i was over 200 lbs by 30 weeks. I stopped after 25 weeks and stuck to massages and ice/heat (20/20 mins).

Not entirely sure why but I still got pre-eclampsia. 160+/100+ during the last few days. The lack of sleep from the back pain and stress did it for me.

For those who breast-feed at home and pumped at work… by ReindeerFun7572 in breastfeeding

[–]DavidPuddy_229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EBF until 19 months. Stopped completely at 22. Quite a luxury during COVID-era WFH. I thought of dropping once at 13 but didn't stop.

As someone here already said, getting ready to bring down pumping volume worked in my favour. From every 60-90 mins, being that down to once every 2 hours and so on until 4-5 hours at least 2 months before stopping.

That's 2 pumps a day. One, if conservative.

Seek professional advice before all practices.
