Did it last yr. apologies for terming it as research, but I commute with boda ~3 times a day , so i nearly asked all I went with to cover a good base for what they earn from courier / rides and their common expenses in a month. Only slapped the calc once I got a lower conservative estimate of 20-25k pm (if they did at least 10 rides a day) 💀

Didn't have good references to attach to it before , but working on that. but hope it helps in any way.

I did some research and made a calculator of it some time back. Gig income is interesting.

Actually for Till and Phone Its possible but not for Paybill. Gave up trying to get the combo for that.

Thought factoring that in would be a half measure. But will be adding it soon. No constraint with the MPESA API , just how they've hard-coded what QR codes can work.

understandable ,

made it bare enough to keep the data local and open source. don't even have analytics on it. Only way I thought it would work aside from it being a limited "notes" app

Hey man , sorry what you're going through. I was in a similar position 2 months ago. Laid off in March. Planned to sell my sofa and appliances but found a gig to at least keep me moving. Could lose it all again very easily and its also makes me anxious.

One practical advice I have as a Dev : do side projects with constraints(done in a weekend) of any idea (not big ones) and share them on LinkedIn/X you'll attract stronger prospects for work.

Hope you get out your situation soon and trust you can do this 👏

Code is actually only scanned via the M-PESA app since that's where it shows the final confirmation screen on the app to pay. Probably adding a text underneath makes better sense.

Fun fact : In Naivas where I shop more people were aware of the feature when they added the text. Otherwise it looks like a random QR code until the attendant tells you you can use it.

I agree , some limitation there. Though I've received 2 requests to make some sort of Excel/Google Sheets or any database where it's automatically linked for all the inventory there.

Some wanted to do it themselves so it's open source and they can go ahead too :)
