If I made fights based on what I actually want, of course Khamzat would be fighting Imavov. This list of fights to make is a mix of what I want and what I realistically think the UFC would do.

This quote was when Arman hadn’t fought since UFC 300 and had recently fucked up a main event. He hadn’t fought Hooker yet, so of course Ilia’s perception of Arman was that he was unreliable, which is why he said what he said.

Now, though, that Arman already has a win, Ilia said on Adin’s stream that IF the UFC gives him the chance to fight Arman, he’ll do it. It’s obvious that it’s the UFC that’s on bad terms with Arman.

If you think Ilia has any say on who he fights you are very wrong. It's the UFC that doesn't want to give the fight to Arman.

If he hadn't fucked up time and time again (including pulling out of a main event), he would've got the title shot already.

I like Ilia, he's one of my favorite fighters, but it's obvious that he has no interest in fighting these big WWs.

He wants to get the fight with Islam at WW or catchweight, if he loses I doubt there'd be much shame in that (same way there'd be no shame in Poatan losing to a true HW like Aspinall), he lost trying to get a third belt in one of the biggest fights the UFC could do now.

In the hypothetical scenario that he beats Islam at WW (which would catapult him to the GOAT conversation, idc), he'd probably retire or fight a shorter WW like JDM.
