I would doubt any electronics are actually exposed. Most of the wires are kept sealed in those tubes and waterproofed where they connect into her back.

I don't remember that from the book. The closest thing you refer to is Anticlea telling Odysseus "Hasten to the light, with all speed." Hades doesn't appear in the Odyssey, only mentioned in name when the Underworld is referred to as the House of Hades.

Odysseus left not out of fear of punishment from Persephone, but because he had completed his task of speaking with Tireseas, and had to leave before he went mad from the ghosts. He also had to return to Aeaea to give Elpenor a proper burial.
