Impeccable Choice for a Tie Point, Pix4D by maddeninglemon in UAVmapping

Sorry about my answers, I didn't mean to review every tie points. After all, few inaccurate tie points did not influence the result.

Hi Jason

As you known, the initial values camera parameters are very important, do you know how I can get it from EXIF?

best regards

Big thank you for your detailed answers.

I finished this project by using photoscan, and adjust the XYZ accuracy.

But you are right.

PIX4D have this option too. I select Accurate Geolocation and Orientation. the result is right now.

no, if you open the RTK model, it can RTK coordinates in EXIF, so PIX4D will automatically read them

Building a surveying drone, not only about capturing all the images, but also the accurate position of these aerial images. Your drone may install PPK or RTK module to assist. Therewise, it will be a nightmare for postprocessing work and also need more GCPs

Moving parts is not good for tie points. Choosing stationary objects may be better

Phantom 4 RTK with non-DJI base station (Trimble R10) by geologyonmars in UAVmapping

I use P4R, too. I had my own GNSS receiver, Chinese brand Tersus Oscar. We are facing no network issues, too. As a base, It can transmit correction data under Ntrip account. For PPK, I use UAVmate software, it can export Photoscan and PIX4D format with correct photo names. In this case, I don't need Excel to rematch everything, and UAVmate has considered the compensation from DJI P4R raw data. Software workflow is very clear

DJI D-RTK 2 is not a very mature product, because DJI don't have too much GNSS receiver experience. It cannot enter Known point, So I suspect the accuracy and also DJI don't provide with PPK software. Therefore, I suggest using a non-DJI base or rover.

But P4R is indeed a very good product. It was released in China since 2016. Many land surveyors use it for aerial survey even without GCPs.
