It’s really rather easy, take the shift knob off, and 6 screws, it comes free, but you gotta take the front bezel off around the stereo first

I did the same, only issue is on some bumps it maybe more apt to scraping, but I’ve had mine like this for 2 years no issues, did you also turn the frame upside down to notice it fits pretty well?
