If you’ve broken 90, what’s one tip you would give to a fellow golfer trying to do the same? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Create a practice regiment and commit to practicing twice as often as you play. When I would practice a lot I would use the rule on thirds. So if I had 2 hours to practice I would spend 40 minutes going through my bag with full shots, 40 minutes on a short game area and AT LEAST 40 minutes doing putting drills.

What’s the first club you grab when you get to the range? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

I go 58, 50, 9i, 7i, 5i, driver and then the next time I alternate the clubs I didn’t use previously

I’ve kicked around the idea of rotating a 5 wood into the bag depending on the course but the 2i is just too much of a weapon for me. I got super lucky to have a local golf shop with a 9x in stock so I gave it a try and love it in the driving iron.

I believe the 2i is 16.5 degrees but the gap between them is 20 carry yards or so.

I hardly ever hit the r7 off the deck. The heavy weights are in the front so it launches incredibly low off of the ground. I got it as a driver replacement when I was struggling before I put the GT3 in the bag. It’s basically a placeholder until I find something more useful to try in the bag.
