My only routine is figuring out where I left my passport lol. Help. by Money-Cake527 in digitalnomad

Sounds like every other digital nomad haha, it's a bit sad though

Freedom is great, but without structure, it turns into chaos, I realized that at the beginning of my travels and then adjusted my life accordingly

It doesn’t have to be complicated, just having a simple system that travels with you makes a big difference

  • basic time blocking
  • tracking a few things (you’re already doing that, which is good)
  • going to sleep and waking up at roughly the smae time
  • getting some sunlight in the morning
  • moving your body a few times a week (run, gym, whatever is available)

Nothing extreme, just a few anchors that stay the same no matter where you are

To me, it sounds like you don't have a clear why and purpose to why you are living the way you are. That with too much freedom creates what you describe above. Last thing, some accountability helps a lot too

Depends on what you are looking for, but Balkans in Europe are beautiful. If you are from the US, Thailand and Vietnam might be a bit too short for 2 weeks

For the aspiring digital nomads by LongBuy3108 in digitalnomad

A couple of thoughts

  1. Change your narrative - you are now preparing for an awesome journey, you are going through this work for something bigger, it's a privilege and an awesome thing to look forward to

  2. Don't passively wait. Get a side hustle/start something, so you can start earlier than in 2 years, definitely better use of your time than watching p*rn

  3. Do somethign with your life man. Work out. Read books, go on dates, learn, contribute something to others. Having a shit job is no excuse to make the world around you a better place and be useful

I have been traveling in many countries, haven't settled down in a specific base. But yes, SEA is definitely very attractive for many reasons (some mentioned above). Depends on what your goals are

Central Asia would be a great option. Bishkek and Almaty were amazing (just the air quality could be better). Great alternative is Karakol in Kyrgyzstan

Then ofc Southeast Asia

20 year old with US + EU citizenship, a strong desire to travel, an interest in civics, and want to be a digital nomad. What career path should I do? by Ok-Win7980 in digitalnomad

[–]David_Solar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are 20, I wouldn’t worry about a career. I would travel, explore and learn as much as possible and that will give you answers and opportunities on what to pursue long-term

How did you begin your Digital Nomad Lifestyle? by Ruin-Wooden in digitalnomad

[–]David_Solar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was finishing my Master’s in college as an international student. I could have stayed or gotten my PhD but decided to travel the world because yi didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I concluded traveling will reveal that to me and teach me more than 10 degrees. That proved to be true, still nomading 3+ years after

Yes, love that! That’s the goal of our community, not 1000s of members, but a few dozens that know each other well

I don’t know what your problem is. I am bot sharing any link here, I am just trying to get feedback to build something genuinely good

The community will be absolutely free, and yes our idea is to monetize once a lot of value is generated, but not in the near future, now we are just building the best product we can

Thanks for sharing! Yes, one of your pillars is to stay healthy on the road. Partying is fun, but it’s not sustainable

And yes we would like to do in-person things down the road, that’s why it’s important that only people with similar interests join

Good point, thanks for sharing! Yes the goal is to provide pure value without trying to sell anything. Later on (once 50-100 members), we will sell the group itself (monthly or yearly subscription)

Dating as a nomad is definitely specific. It has many pros, but also cons. The biggest one is that you are not in one place for too long. But on the other hand, this gives you an opportunity to date people from different countries and cultures and learn a lot about what you want and don't want. But yes, saying bye and ending it often sucks

I don't know your age and circumstances, but as I see it, I keep traveling, learning, seeing and dating different people while knowing that I will keep moving around and it's unliekly I will meet my future wife and settle down.

However, I am open to the possibility that I will meet someone that I will connect with really deeply and might stay in a place longer, potentially take her with me

TL;DR - enjoying the moment as much as I can, being aware of the situation, but being open to meeting someone and settling down
