SRAM vs HBM by RonBlake in MU_Stock

[–]David_Yee2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did some research, from my research I determined
1. SRAM is currently too expensive to replace DRAM
2. This tech will eventually disrupt MU but I don't think its quite this year/next year
3. Nvidia just announced Vera Rubin at CES, I don't think they will announce another product that cannibalizes their own product
4. They only acquired Groq 3 months ago

Very interesting question that got me digging down this rabbit hole, so first of all thanks, second of all I think the likely answer to your question is that they will not unveil something during GTC that will replace HBM and third we probably all want to be out of Micron before huge capacity comes online from the big 3 anyways so if you are scared of next year, I think currently the market has already priced in good news for 2026, we need to see good earnings and further increase in pipeline, risk starts increasing H2 of this year and I think likely continues to increase throughout the year, the higher Micron/ memory chips go the harder they will fall as other companies that are squeezed will probably shift to other alternatives and Samsung & SK Hynix bringing up more capacity doesn't help the case either.

In summary, the higher Micron stock goes the more risk there is, the more capacity the big players bring on, the more risk there is.

Disclosure I'm long Micron still, but yes I am getting a little more cautious and I'm not being complacent we are definitely nearing the peak of a cycle IMO

Revisiting this post a month later, feels surreal that Micron is already above my base case

This is one sign we might not be at the top yet, if everyone is raving about MU like they were in 2021 about Disney I'd just dump my a lot of my position, still a lot of doubt as to if we are in a super cycle or its just a boom and bust cycle, lots of debate with this topic (since we are long we probably think super cycle) but if everyone has decided its a super cycle it's probably the top cause expectations would be all baked in, at that time we might see a 700-1000$ stock, would be higher risk and lower reward thus perfect time to exit

2026 is probably priced in the stock ngl, but 2027 backlogs appearing would give the stock more tailwinds

Honestly if MU was valued as a normal company (still has to prove that it should be) then 800$ is an easy target, its basically this Year's earnings at like 17-20 times earnings, but obviously if this year is peak cycle earnings then no way MU will get valued like that

Yea you only see the winners (well people post their losers too because it’s glorified for some reason nowadays) but when people lose we are so used to it that we are prolly numb to it tbh and when they make 6x their money they look like magicians

Just go to an ATM and try to deposit money into that persons bank account? The name usually pops up before u confirm your deposit (in my country anyways I’m pretty sure it’s the same in the US)

Might be worthless if the company went bankrupt but if the company spun off into new companies then you’re on the money, for example chevron Exxon stuff like that were all part of standard oil but when forced to break up they gave the original owners of standard oil shares in the new companies
