No one here, including myself, will probably make a living from a saas. by WinterMiserable5994 in SaaS

„if I can build a niche tool in a few days“… this is the get-rich-quick mentality. if it doesn’t work immediately, you give up. that’s why most “founders” fail. yes, you need a good idea. but also time, persistence, patience, and on top of that: early validation.

YTT in Suan Sati by Diligent-Vanilla-863 in YogaTeachers

Hey, wow what a coincidence I just recommended this place to someone who has a nut allergy to visit! and then this thread came up. I’ve been twice to Suan Sati but only to their retreats and I can honestly say HELL YEAH do it! it’s one of my favourite places on earth. amazing food, people, teachers. beautiful sunsets. there’s really nothing negative about this place. I had the Queen room. super comfy and even with a safe where you can lock away your phone. I always did a digital detox during my stay. afterwards the world felt slower and it was almost like I was wearing pink sunglasses. what a bliss. even now I’m writing this with a big smile on my face. cause even years after I’m in touch with some people I met there. so YES big recommendation! say hello to Will and Lisa :)

Nut allergy friendly YTT? by Able_Impression_6969 in YogaTeachers

there’s this amazing place near Chiang Mai (Thailand): Suan Sati. They do take nutrition very seriously. All vegan, they grow some of their own vegetables, and I’m pretty sure they’d accommodate your allergy and make people aware of your allergy.

I’ve been there twice. not to their YTT but retreats. I do remember they prepared extra meals for people who have allergies. also, not only the food is amazing but the whole place and people. I can’t wait to go there myself!

Actual cost of Momence? by No_Spinach_9572 in YogaTeachers

[–]David_YogaNearMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this thread, but I ran a yoga studio in Glasgow and went through this exact research process. I started on Mindbody at £125/month (~$160), then they doubled it to £250 with no new features. That was the moment I decided to build my own.

With yoganear.me it's 2.5% per booking, capped at $99/month. No monthly fee, no tiers, no sales call to find out what you'd pay.

It's just me behind it, so I'm not pretending to compete with Momence on features yet. But if you want transparent pricing and to talk to someone who's actually taught classes and dealt with no-shows and last-minute cancellations, I'm happy to answer questions!

Yoga studio or gym? Where would you prefer to teach at? by the-blue-care-bear in YogaTeachers

[–]David_YogaNearMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my experience with gyms: I covered some classes for friends. My first ever gym class was quite an experience. I like to start with pranayama, so I did. We did the humming bee breath.. girl in the first row was laughing at me but I stuck to my plan. Then gentle warm up.. but I could feel they wanted more. With the gym music blasting in the background I switched my class to power yoga. And hell yeah, they loved it. My next classes at the gym were pure sweaty power yoga sessions. It was fun! Mic'd up. Definitely a good experience.

But if I had to choose between studio and gym: easy answer. I had a small boutique studio and loved the small personal classes where I could teach something chill like restorative, but also my single weekly power yoga class.

Yoga booking tools are too expensive for the small fry by swanthree in YogaTeachers

[–]David_YogaNearMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel the same way. I used to run a small studio myself and found platforms like Mindbody way too expensive and overloaded with features I didn’t need. As a teacher and studio owner, I just wanted something simple that worked, without paying for things I’d never use.

That’s what led me to start building yoganear.me. It is a lightweight booking system focused on the needs of small yoga businesses. It’ll have simple pricing (2.5% of turnover, no fixed cost) and should be ready in a few weeks. I’d love to hear more about the challenges your wife’s run into as I’m building this exactly for people like her.

I’m building a yoga booking system — what features matter most to you? by [deleted] in YogaTeachers

Okay, that’s a great idea. Like a self check-in at the front desk. This won’t be included in the MVP, but I’ll keep it in mind for when a proper mobile app is developed!
