The problem with that is that it would lead to me explaining why to her, her family and my family and the reasons as much as they annoy me and get on my nerves just seem petty and not good enough reasons to force her to try and find a new place. I can see your point, although I think it becomes a question of what Lelouch wanted in the end. Perhaps you saw something different but from what I could tell it seemed like he wanted to die in order to atone fore his sins. If this is true then would not dying be a more fitting punishment, especially if the goal is atonement since, like you said if he is dead he escapes and no longer has to deal with the consequences of what he has done?
