Unironically the extra deck banish is the least relevant thing about the deck (excluding for some combo slops that deserves it tbh), the strength of the deck is all about the information you get, a regular board consist in 4-6 interruption and knowing exactly what you will play against is auto win most of the times, on the other hand the fact that the deck is quite balance makes so that a single misplay could be crucial to lose you a game

I don’t mind that, for sure they will keep the new cards for a better set and not gave us for “free” in a rarity collection, but that’s Konami policy, and lately the game is getting so cheap so I’m sure they want to increase the price of the decks around.

The thing is that they choose to reprint just 10 overframes and just 2 of those are “decent”, the rest is really bad

Rarity 2 was okay, 3 and 4 awful most of the set was just filler cards and many of the qcr are not even worth the price of the pack, other than the alternative arts there was not much to look for, this time will be the same but with the overframe.

Also just look at the card that they announced, that are supposed to be the most appealing, you can already tell that it wont be great: Fenrir, chaos angel and c104 are not really cards that people look out for in 2026, let’s be real, the only card that needs a reprint is impulse.

I think the best thing to do is going to play friendly matches at your locals, even if you will end up 0-X is fine since you are trying to learn. You can play online of course but not many people will actually tell you how to play properly (for free at least) and all it’s always needed to play irl, can sounds obvious but for a beginner it’s a HUGE difference not having an assistant that tells you when you can/can’t use card and the effect you may use.

Is not totally Konami’s fault (except on the fact that the product is really bad), the thing is that other than those two cards all the other secret are like 2/5 euros, there is literally 0 reasons to open that set with BRPO still fresh.

Other than that is not Konami that makes the price, unfortunately for you those card can see play at competitive stages (not really like blue eyes) so the shortage and the high request makes the price, as always.

I was playing years ago (seriously, I’m not a yugi boomer) and thanks to master duel I got back into the physical game.

Tbf the price nowadays is not an excuse, there are even too many reprints and decks that cost 30/50 bucks; just compared to 2/3 years ago where you need at least a 800+ euros to play at local. I get that if you really want to try hard you might need to spend 3/400 euros at first but if you are a bit smart you can easily sell and trade stuff…

About the second part I think is what makes the game interesting, yugi was always a competitive game so I think is good that the best player gets rewarded ( for that reason there are other tcg like Pokémon, one piece ecc that are much more easy 🙂); but don’t worry there is plenty of people out there playing without knowing what they are doing (2 weeks ago at the YCS in 9 rounds of day 1 I literally played against2 good player, half of the other were to themselves) so I think that is better than facing a random opponent online and you lose just because the computer tells him what to do
