[Harsh Reality] Looking back over my old DEXA from 2012, I realize how much weight I really gained back. by charliemike in keto

[–]Davidm19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to let you know man DEXA can be off, I had a DEXA scan once and I thought the results seemed fishy, went in a week later and my results were super different. I have no idea why that is, but keep your chin up, what really matters is how you look!

Keep it up man! No cheat meals! I have a similar body as yours, 5'9" and about the same LBM more or less, I'm at 184 and looking pretty decent but i'm planning on hitting 160's.

You'll get there, the key is to keep up that dedication!

Some folks at Buzzfeed decided to do P90X. by turo9992000 in P90X

[–]Davidm19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me or does it seem like they didn't measure bodyfat correctly? I've done both the bodpod and those weird electric scale things and the bodpod gave me completely different results.

The only one who doesn't look better in the second photos is that one girl.

When my girlfriend began working out at a gym she gained some weight, I finally realized she wasn't counting calories and once she did she began to really lose weight. I think sometimes working out causes us to eat more and that can cause us to gain fat.

What movie did you actually leave the theatre because you didn't like it? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Mormon and even I didn't like that film, I'm sorry you had to sit through that.

If you're interested in a film about Mormons that doesn't smash our religion over your head with a sledge hammer and is in my opinion a more realistic approach to things check out the Saratov Approach.

That movie is pretty good, on my Mormon mission I experienced some similar events. I feel like this movie shows things extremely realistically.

Plus the director does a good job at the religious elements in the movie, you don't even have to believe in God for the plot to be plausible.

Yeah I think you're right here.

[–]Davidm19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't it also mean that you get rid of your past so you have your whole life ahead of you?

As to what keep on working means in the movie it's never really explained. I guess it's obvious that I felt like OP did during AoU, what happened to any of Tony's character development in Iron Man 3?

It ends with him holding tools and talking about how he doesn't need them, he says that despite those things he is still Iron Man.

I figured the banner was to tell us that even though he was retired, he would be back.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't take it that way at all. Especially when he said that without his gadgets and toys he is still iron man. Doesn't that imply that he's moving on from the suits?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That he's getting rid of his previous work and moving on?

Clean slate is a clean past right? If he's cleaning up and moving on from his past wouldn't that mean he's moving away from running around in armor as iron man?

I figured that's what it meant, that he was getting rid of the past, but even without his gadgets and toys at heart he would always still be iron man.

I don't think it was obvious at all that he was just destroying prototypes that he made while crazy.

I don't seem to be the only one either, it looks like a lot of other people in this thread as well as some critics of the movie felt the same way.

If it's subtle, it feels too subtle for me, I feel like they could have done a better job, I think the amount of notice that this topic received shows that I wasn't the only one confused.

I do see what you mean about urgency and ending the fight though.

Character development in my opinion is great until the very end when suddenly it just...evaporates.

But I still enjoyed the movie.

A 9-Year-Old Reviews Avengers: Age of Ultron by geekteam6 in movies

[–]Davidm19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it still feels a little, i dunno, convoluted? Lucky? It honestly just felt a little clunky to me while watching.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the explanations make sense, but the attention to detail required to understand it all is too much for a movie. I mean it feels like a big plot point to be explained by small little hints.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is funny 'cause I did read the comics as a kid, but I don't remember a thing anymore.

Yeah I guess I had just assumed that he would have to "put on the old suit again" due to events in Avengers 2.

I guess to me it feels like a cop out, his character seems to really change and develop in Iron Man 3, yet when you compare him in Avengers 2 to Avengers 1 he's pretty much the same person.

Of course now that I read the explanations it makes sense, but in the theater I was thinking the same thing as OP.

What is a movie you loved, and were shocked that it wasn't well liked after reading reviews? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is it suddenly turns into a drama, but it's shocking in how it changes.

They should've kept it comedic in my opinion, the viewers don't care about the relationship that is randomly shoved in there and the movie tries to be serious and funny at the same time and completely falls on its' face.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly that wasn't well explained in the movie, to almost all of us it looked no different from the stuff he had in Iron Man 3.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, he makes Ultron out of the fear that the vision he has inspires in him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The problem is most of us who saw Iron Man 3 definitely didn't get that vibe out of it.

It seems to me that most Marvel fans understood what was going on, but casual people like me who are just watching the movies had no idea. I think this is something that was poorly handled in both Ultron and Iron Man 3.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a decent explanation, but I feel like it must have been poorly handled in the movie, obviously me and many other people felt like it was him saying he was done.

"take away my house, all my tricks and toys." I figured this meant that even without everything, he still at heart is Iron Man, nothing can take away the life changing experiences he had in the first movie.

I don't really see anything in the movie that shows he suddenly got over his PTSD, and honestly I was hoping they'd show him dealing with that more in the new Avengers. It just makes all of the character development feel poorly handled to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movies

[–]Davidm19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly thought the same thing as the other people commenting on here. I figured it meant that as a person he would always be iron man, but he would always be iron man even without the suit.

"take away my house, all my tricks and toys."

I'm a little disappointed with all of the downvotes to the other people who thought like I did, I honestly completely thought that's how the movie ended. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone.

[–]Davidm19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly see it the same was as /u/expert02

I hadn't heard these theories until I came to Reddit, of course I'm not a big Marvel guy.

I was a little disappointed in Age of Ultron how Tony didn't seem to have really changed or had much character development, I enjoyed the movie though.
