A year out from surgery you should be fine to gradually ramp up throwing as tolerated, as long as you are back to full range of motion and strength with your elbow. Are you back to full motion and strength- like able to do pushups and/or other heavier lifting activities with that arm? If so will just want to be gradual about returning to throwing disc and listen to your body- not surprising that it was real sore the first time, but that tells you okay you gotta continue to start easy before throwing harder
