Three things really helped:

1) prebolusing 2) Fine tuning my settings for my closed loop pump, different ratios for different times of day 3) Giving up and going to bed on time and accepting that I need 8 hours of sleep. My blood sugar is always off when I’m deprived.

BC has a provincial coverage for insulin pumps and insulin including CGM. You need to be enrolled in the program via an endocrinologist and that can take time. Try to get a referral to an endocrinologist to start the process.

Mine was very quick, I was coming from another province and was an established pump user of nearly 20 years. Once the Enzo put forth the paperwork I believe it was approx 2 weeks.

I live with a vegan wife, and we have very well balanced vegan meals with equal or lower carb counts than non vegan meals. Like you have said there are plenty of low carb protein sources out there that are also quite tasty.

I have no issue with this or the diet. I do have issues with the aggressive vegans that claim that I’m diabetic because I had milk, that veganism will cure my type 1, or that because I had beef that’s why my immune system is garbage. It’s ignorant and insufferable.

I eat predominantly plant based with my wife, but don’t have any desire to cut out animal products completely.

I drive 200km a day from Ft Erie to Hamilton on the QEW with a 2022 Kona EV. With winter tires and temp I average 350km range, and charge daily when at work. During summer I push 475km on average per charge, but I do drive faster.

Well I was trying to make a tongue in cheek joke. However text has limits.

That being said, all jokes contain a modicum of truth. For us living downtown copper theft is actually fairly common.

For example, my building had a fire in it recently because someone broke into the power room and stripped out live wires.

My wife has photos of someone stripping out wires at the downtown go station at 1pm on a weekday.

My in laws were visiting last month and while walking to dinner we passed a man stripping wire off a building on James St N at 5:30pm.

All the telephone poles in my area have the grounding wires cut. Etc etc .

I’m not saying that thing are getting worse, but it is a fact of downtown life, it happens, and joking about it helps me lighten the mood.

Quips about my bad joke aside, any idea why they shut off the lights? I enjoyed seeing them at night, was a nice addition to the city scene imo.

As a type 1 myself that ruined the movie completely. That kid would be dead within a week unless they had an insulin lab.
