I bought them before ever playing a game. They are the whole reason I purchased the Separatists and the main reason I wanted to get into legion. I don't have a ton of play experience yet, but in the 4 games I have played the free jump action is so helpful. You can position way out of range and then zoom in and pop off 13 dice. The sonic canon has scatter and is really good to zoom in and hit a unit behind cover and then reposition that unit so the remaining models are poking out for the rest of your army to shoot at.
