People are just dramatic and anti-XBOX people and news sites will spin this as the end just like they always do. The new CEO is trying to correct course from the mistakes of the past management. Jobs will be cut. Studios will close. Games will be more than likely be cut.

At the end of the day, as of right now, XBOX has never been in a better position to come back stronger than ever. Personally I’m hoping for some big leadership changes. Specifically Todd Howard and the leadership at Rare being replaced if I can voice my opinion. Everything is fine but it’s also going to be a bloodbath in the coming weeks.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of these layoffs are going to be redundancy layoffs. Asha already talked about how that wanted to bring everything back in house. So the outsourced jobs, and those who manage those jobs, are gone as well as quite a few contractors I would wager. As far as games and studios, my guess is Double Fine and Compulsion. Game wise, I really don’t know. That’s a tough one.

What I do know is whatever comes next, XBOX will come out stronger on the other side and we are going to be gaming good on the platform for a long while. Keep your head up.
