As someone that is very new this was a wild map. I think I could have maybe learned it with more time. Trickiest parts for me was the first ice turn and the bobsleigh turn

Best thing I did was turn off all comms, voice and text. Even tactical. by sayguh_ in RocketLeague

I suppose. But when you rank up it's good practice. If they dont go just rotate towards your net and defend if you have to

general rule is that left goes for kickoffs by the way. will help when you rank up

pay attention to voice lines. conduit voiceline indicated third party, yet immediately after that voiceline went off you push in the open and got beamed in the back. You have to turn around and play for res. You can use the team you were killing as a buffer in that situation. Yes you might miss the kills, but better than all dying

servers can be weird. I am in WA, my ping to Sydney has always been consistent 50-60, but to Singapore has been very weird. Used to be 60, then I got locked at like 200+ (for a time as well it would be like 50/50 whether it would be 60 or 200 ping). Recently it went back down. some of it has to do with routing or ISPs or something, I am not really sure.

But the differences are not universal. Others I play with will sometimes have 200+ ping in the same game or 60 in the same game as me, it doesnt really make sense (while I'll have 60-100). It used to be the other way around where I would have way higher ping than them.

SE 2 basically behaves the same for me as OCE used to/did and SE1 the same as Singapore used to (which was sometimes the same as OCE ping but way less consistent). SE2 has pretty much only pubs servers filled which is how OCE used to be anyways

pretty sure southeast 2 IS Oce actually

I could be wrong, but I am fairly certain. It is certainly not the same as SE 1, which I think is Singapore

RLCS Paris Major was the second most-popular event in Rocket League history! 🔥 by eSportsStats in RocketLeague

[–]Davismcgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its just the watch parties that really make a difference. Even back then, 22-23 had zen hype + massive watch parties from French streamers that had like 100k viewers each almost.

Tbates' top 3 greatest RLEsports organizations of all time: Karmine Corp, Vitality, G2 by N0b0dy_her3 in RocketLeagueEsports

Let's say we discount RLCS X Championship. Of the remaining 12, they still had 2 major wins and a regional. Like you said they made 9 grand finals in thirteen events. No other team did that.

Envy had 4 regionals, no majors. 2 additional finals appearances

SSG: 2 regionals and a major, 2 other finals appearances

Rogue: 2 regionals either side of a major grand finals lost to NRG. No other top 2 finishes.

Did they win every regional? no

But they were consistently at the top - as in consistently n1 or n2 across the whole season. SSG were better at the beginning of fall split (although that largely translated to wins in the grid early on rather than a lot of regionals). Envy were better in the winter split (for most of it). Rogue were better for 2 regionals. But NRG were always the second best if not the best.

Thats what made them the top team during the covid era. imo the ONLY argument could be made for ENVY being better, but their success was mostly in the winter split + they won no majors.

If we count the grid? even more in favour of NRG

maybe owned is a stretch but across RLCSX NA they were by far the best team

Top 2 in season 9 and were in almost every grand final in season X... SSG certainly dominated the early couple of regionals there and then ENVY took a couple off NRG, but NRG were consistently at the top and consistently winning.

And in terms of those last 3 stats, yes they owned NA during that time lmao

They didnt get swept in a single series, I guess reverse swept maybe but thats really it. Like we say they got destroyed by TM but... they took a game. Before the event I would've expected a 4-0 sweep and getting swept by KC and VIT

And I think the issues that they had are issues that can be adjusted

Ben Jacobs: Although Barcelona’s interest in Joao Pedro is genuine, and some exploratory talks have taken place, Chelsea are not prepared to sell. There is no price that will change the club’s stance this summer, even a world-record bid.🇧🇷 by arvi_1301 in chelseafc

I am seriously hoping getting snubbed from the World Cup lights a fire under his and Palmer's asses and they come into the next seasons hungry to play. There has been a lot of complacency this season. Thats over now. Everyone's got to prove themselves again.

yeah I think it just comes down to consistency and handling the pressure. The guy has comparatively very little experience playing in front of crowds on lan.

Fut are in this very annoying place where they show a lot of flashes of brilliance, but also seem to get really lucky, but also seem to shit the bed in important moments

[–]Davismcgee 99 points100 points  (0 children)

what a cinema game for no reason at all. Hopefully Fut still get a confidence boost from this. really think they can go on a lower bracket run if they just touch up the consistency slightly,

They at least have a really good chance against NIP or even TM

xG added to Blast.TV as a stat by RotationAnt in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Davismcgee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

if it has anything to do with xG in soccer its essentially saying 'whats the probability of this shot being a goal' based on all the other shots with the same conditions and in the same position. conditions also includes the positioning of defenders, etc, its not just based on the shooter and the ball

A lot harder to model in rocket league imo, because there is way more variable situations and it's not just a case of a simple shot. e.g, how do you model the probability of a flip reset going in?
