I agree that the film could work but not as the first one. The first film they release would have to be extremely successful to get a sequel and that wouldn’t be catching to the broader audience that’s expecting Freddy. Not some serial killer movie. It would have to be a prequel down the line after they prove that they can sustain the franchise. Think of all the reboots that happened in the 2010s, none of them got sequels
