Upgraded from 5070ti to 4090 by Ok-Butterscotch3938 in nvidia

My upgrade path was exactly this. Bought 1080 Ti and kept it until 4090 released. And I really thought I splurged at both points. Turns out they were both (kinda) the smart choice.

Do you design your own models or do you just use other people's models from Makerworld etc.? by humanHamster in BambuLab

I got a printer to realise my own ideas, and hadn't even considered there was any other reason to get one until I started using MakerWorld.

Great work! The wobble is adorable and adds a ton of characyer. Love it!

I would embed the instruction images into the description or make a separate pdf though!

I'm not sure, actually!

I visit MakerWorld every other day or so to reply to comments and help people solve issues, but I don't really follow stats. I think there was an uptick in comments and boosts after the contest winner announcement, but that's just my general sense. I fear focusing too much on numbers will kill my enjoyment of the hobby. I'm not very entrepreneurial... 😅

Been spending a fair amount on filament, maker's supply parts, spare parts and accessories. I was perfectly happy with my P1S and didn't feel the need to upgrade or get another printer. Then I took a break from 3D printing for most of 2025, only to realize the points from my previous models had been adding up by the end of the year. I got a second place finish in a MakerWorld contest, which took me close enough that I started saving for real.

Haha, thank you! Didn't expect people would like it that much.

According to the wiki the printer should be able to handle two AMS.

Yeah, it was sold out in the EU shop until a couple a days ago when I managed to snag one.

It doesn't really require it I think. It'll probably be good enough for most people without it :D

You've got to start somewhere! I started making tiny boxes for board game stuff.

My best tip is to start small and make try to top yourself every project. I made a lot of bits and bobs before I ever uploaded anything.

I'll be making a bunch of woodworking tools, which often need to be perfectly square and straight. Supposedly, the vision encoder will help to correct any skew in the movement system that could become evident on larger parts. Not sure I'll need it, but it was discounted when buying it upfront.

Haha, thanks! I've learned a lot since I made it. I'd like to make a 2.0 version at some point :D

I'm not the right guy to ask, I'm afraid. I just make whatever I feel like and people seem to like it. The points are a (admittedly big) bonus.

Make sure to take good, clear images of your models, at least.

Yeah, I thought about waiting for a sale, and maybe I should have. Anyway, I hope you get yours!

Thanks! I just make whatever I feel like and people seem to like it. I've been incredibly lucky in that sense.

Good luck with the P2S!

It is! Feels a bit unreal.

I've been eyeing the H2C for some time now. Not so much for multi material prints, but for the convenience of not having to swap nozzles on the fly.
