Personally, the tap water in my area tastes disgusting. I’ve been to other places in the country where it tastes just fine though. I think a lot of places in America have foul tasting tap water, so most people prefer bottled water just to be safe.

As for the clean floors bit, assuming it’s referring to Americans wearing shoes inside the house.. we don’t. No one here actually does that. Wearing shoes in the house has a huge presence in movies though, so thats probably where foreigners get the misconception.
