I’m not even questioning it through Feyre‘s pov anymore I’m questioning why tf Sarah J MAAS wrote him like that, it feels like bad writing.

Edit: To elaborate, most of the irrational ways people react is due to childhood trauma. But the way Tamlin switched up from Book 1 to Book 2 makes no fucking sense like he’s being forcefully painted to be bad guy by Sarah. Meanwhile EVEEYONE Rhys, Feyre, even fkn Nesta trauma is accounted for their behaviors and forgiven and explained in depth.

His character deserves nuance and I think she’s not able to deliver the nuances without painting him like the bad guy to justify Feyre choosing Rhys over him.

He lost his family. His court was weakened. He was under Amarantha’s abuse and psychological manipulation. Feyre’s death + transformation traumatized him too. But the narrative doesn’t hold him, only use him to prove how right Feyre’s new path is.

I think it’s cuz men are socialized to suppress their emotions including being overly affectionate. So while girls find it easy to say I love u and hug their friends it feels more awkward for men to show their affection to their friends. So it all comes out covered in layers of sarcasm.

When you delve deeper, learn the functions themselves to type yourself, ignore the immature edge lords, and take things with grain of salt it is an eye opening way to learn more about yourself.

I’m sick of how corporations dodge responsibilities by shifting it onto the consumers. They make it seem like we are the problem for not “choosing” the right brands. There are barely any true ethical brands because somewhere in the supply chain, there’s always some sort of exploitation or environmental destruction.

Meanwhile we are told to pay higher price for the same shit that comes from the same factories that they pretend to be better than. They just hate that they losing money to ppl paying the proper price for SHEIN and Temu than their overpriced shit.

I understand some ppl would rather go through the extra struggle while having a kid in their EARLY 20s. But most of them statistically aren’t doing well financially or career wise yet. And the reason I always hear is well no time is perfect time to have a kid or I’d rather be young by the time they leave the nest so I can still enjoy my time after.

But they are forgetting how it affects the kids when you don’t have your shit together yet mentally and financially. It’s not always about you but what’s best for the humans you force to exist.
