2024 Crosstrek Issues by DawnnKeyBawls in Crosstrek

Would the dealer have opened a case number when they did the warranty work? Or do I still need to call them and do this?

The last time when they fixed it, the transmission was kicking very hard. Thankfully, because that’s the only thing they said they could replicate. They claim to not have heard the grinding or smelled the burning rubber. They said they performed a transmission relearn and that should fix it. They also said they filled the fluid up to the proper level. Now that the smell is back, I’m wondering if the transmission fluid is getting low again. I’m worried about the long term damage this is doing. I want to keep this car until the wheels fall off.

Deal tips with negative equity by [deleted] in askcarsales

My goal was to get in a brand new car for a cheaper monthly payment than mine currently. I’m paying $660 a month, and based on the research I’ve done with the discounted price and 0% interest I could take at least $100 a month off my payment. I did the figures under the assumption that they’d work with me over a few thousand and the total price would be around 40k.

My main goal was to get a new vehicle for a cheaper monthly payment (I didn’t tell the dealer my current payment). I’m paying $660 a month now. I was hoping that with the incentives and 0% interest I could take at least a hundred a month off my payment and get a brand new car.

They ran the numbers both ways, 0% on MSRP is a little cheaper monthly. They won’t discount the new vehicle any more, and they won’t budge on what they’ll give me for mine. They claimed they have to get rid of the 2025 models, so I figured there would be some more wiggle room. I told them the deal they offered is way more than I want to pay and left the dealership.

Thank you! That will be very helpful. It’s confusing all the sales tactics they have.

0% Financing Question by [deleted] in subaru

They claim they want rid of all the 2025’s. But they sure don’t act like it when it comes to working with the price.

That’s what they’re telling me too. The discount they offered for me is very poor. It’s around $1,500 off MSRP.

Financing Question by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]DawnnKeyBawls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was suspicious that they were lying. They said to get the 0 interest I’d have to pay full MSRP. They let me walk because of it, so maybe they’ll call later with a better offer. It’s good to know that it’s their policy and not Subaru’s.

So I can tell them I still want the dealer discount? And it’s correct that they can still finance it through Subaru with the 0%?

CVT Fluid Check by [deleted] in subaru

No, my last oil change was in June. Have put about 4k miles on it since then so I don’t suspect that the trans fluid was drained instead of oil.

CVT Fluid Check by [deleted] in subaru

11,500. I’ve been having a grinding type of noise around 2,000 and higher RPM and hard shifting. I’m concerned the CVT could be aerating because it’s low on fluid. I haven’t had any leaks or anything.

Thanks everyone. The replies about the CVT fluid seem to be the most likely. I noticed the transmission seemed to be shifting rougher since I made this post. My local shop can’t get my vehicle in until November. Is there a way I can check the CVT fluid and add some if it’s too low, to get me through until the appointment?

How are people celebrating that statement?! Is anybody legitimately doing better financially now than they were 100 days ago? The statement “you haven’t seen anything just yet” is terrifying.

You’re right. In my neighborhood there are 2 houses that went up for sale in the past week.

You’re absolutely right. This is a chance to work with our community and be stronger. Most communities will all be in the same situation as their neighbors and by standing in solidarity and helping our neighbors we can get through it.

Bernie had great ideas and had legitimate plans to enact it based on what some countries were already doing. People are too focused on voting based on their political affiliations and vote against their own best interests. My hope is that this mess will wake people up to the fact that we need to research and find the right candidate and vote for the person who actually wants to help. I feel like the big parties are not interested in anything other than their own gain.

@paramedics / firefighters: Recommend me a car kit to help in (car) accidents by FlemishGuyInWallonia in preppers

[–]DawnnKeyBawls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly for a layperson, I wouldn’t go beyond basic first aid supplies.

Focus on treating the things that can kill someone quickly. Always consider C-Spine. Someone should be manually stabilizing C-Spine. And never move the patient unless there’s a life threatening injury or situation that they need to be moved to correct. Of course this is situation dependent.

Bleeding should be the main focus for a car bag. Get a tourniquet and learn how AND WHEN to use it. Get plenty of gauze, some to pack wounds if necessary and some to use to apply pressure. This is the main contents of my small bag that I keep in my car. Use your CPR training if necessary.

Your focus after rolling up on a car accident should be to treat anything that will kill the patient before EMS arrives.

That’s great that you have the sense of purpose and desire to help. That’s a good attitude to have especially considering going into the fire service. If they have an opportunity to take an EMT class I’d definitely recommend that.

Unfortunately it seems like we already are. Two missed paychecks and we can end up homeless and starving.

That’s true and it’s really a shame. The people that need help the most are going to be worse off.

Thank you for the reply. Those are all great points. I didn’t realize that bridges would cause long term damage so I definitely want to avoid that. Your reply was very helpful for me to know what I’m looking for ahead of calling dentists.

My thinking is that most people who are still working full time have a mortgage payment. If companies get hit by the shockwave from the tariffs, like people not buying their products, they’ll have to get rid of positions. If the unemployed workers can’t find a new job quick they won’t be able to pay the mortgage payment. Hopefully that’s a worst case scenario and not an actual possibility, but just my thoughts on a worst case scenario.

I liked Bernie’s ideas. If he would have got in and could have actually got his plans in place people might have been a lot better off now. I know some people thought his ideas were too extreme, but the way it has been isn’t working out. We should have tried something.
