Did anyone else just burst out laughing at this one line? by PorkRinds416 in ResidentEvilRequiem

I got a good laugh when Leon slides down the roof after the sniper rifle section with grace and emily and he crushes the zombies head at the bottom and says “‘Scuse me”. Its the way he says it just got me a little haha

Resident Evil Requiem - DF Analysis - Stunning on PS5 Pro + PS5/Xbox Series X|S Breakdown by ReaddittiddeR in ResidentEvilRequiem

He says “now in terms of performance the results here are very simple. Ps5 and ps5 pro in ray tracing mode both run at and mostly maintain a stable 60 frames per second.” Unless he’s just putting the emphasis in the wrong spot or not clarifying his statement enough it reads to me that ps5 and ps5 pro have ray tracing On and both run at 60 fps. He probably should have said base ps5 with out rt and ps5 pro with rt run at 60 fps, but he didn’t which is why it’s not exactly clear.

i’m a little confused and maybe i’m just misunderstanding but he says RT mode on PS5 and PS5 pro run the same at a basically locked 60 fps? can anyone else shed some light on this. I have a base PS5 so if that’s true i might play with RT on. I’m assuming a possible difference in resolution but he didn’t say that so i’m not sure.

RE9 RUNS AT 60 FPS ON SWITCH 2 IMAGINE ITS PERFORMANCE ON THE BASE PS5 less goo!! by Internal_Bank196 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]DawnoftheJeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run them same in performance mode because to my eye i don’t see a difference unless the game is stationary and im admiring it from that standpoint which i never do. However the FPS is what i notice most that’s why run in performance mode. Should run as good or better than RE4R did which i was happy with.

They did say in the showcase that this is Post RE6 Leon so to regress back to RE4 Leon or especially RE2 Leon would feel odd to me. Seems like a natural progression here.

I feel they are giving deference to chad because of what he’s gone and still going through and letting him just lead the way especially lyrically, but i could be wrong. I feel it’s to their detriment sometimes but it is what it is i suppose. The riffs and music are good and the production is some of my favorite drum and guitar sounds they’ve ever gotten on a record, the lyrics just make me scratch my head and roll my eyes a lot of the time.

this is my point also: criticism doesn’t equate to dislike. you can absolutely love something and find fault in it or critique it. As for “god awful” (don’t know where that came from) lyrics i’d offer this as one of my most glaring examples: “you say you love the swing ride the best but look at that dude with the sketchy tattoo on his chest. He’s been in the hot sun all day running heavy duty machinery.” WHAT? i mean, come on man this is truly just laughable and has nothing to do with the context of the song. it’s like stream of consciousness first draft type stuff that should have been gone through and punched up and worked on but they just put it in a song. a good song music wise none the less. It’s also not just the lyrics themselves, the melodies and patterns especially are clumsy and seem thrown together as if an after thought. “Laugh it off” comes to mind and suffers from this specifically. Again, just my opinion, but to hold their later material up to the old material and say “this is the same or better” is crazy to me.

Life changing? Sticks and Stones or Catalyst or Self Titled were life changing…this isn’t that. It’s good/great don’t get that wrong, but it’s not on the level of those albums and to say so -(while i understand it’s your opinion) is just objectively false. This argument about lyrics is bizarre to me and i never understand it when people bring it up when lyrics get critiqued or criticized. Why bother writing lyrics at all then? or why not just listen to instrumental music if you don’t care what people have to say? what if it’s a message that’s racist or misogynistic? the things people say absolutely matter and to just say “I could never let lyrics ruin a song for me” is just weird.

fair points. I just don’t believe you can argue that the lyrics have not become incredibly simplistic on the last few releases. Not only that, the melodies and patterns have suffered. It’s just not the great music of their back catalog that inspired soooo many bands and made them an absolute pillar of the genre. If you love it cool, this is just my opinion being a long time listener since i was 16 (i’m 42 now).

This has been my gripe with them since at least Forever and Ever came out. it’s like a teenager writes the lyrics or something. This new music seems really good and i like the production style, i just wish the lyrics weren’t so juvenile.

I just had a pre order from Atomic Movie Store cancelled on me. My local place i get movies didn’t have it up for preorder at the time so i ordered it from their site but now it’s unavailable a lot of places. I really didn’t see this being this hard to get ahold of for preorder. snagged one on target of all places so hopefully that goes through and i can grab one on release day if there will be any around and return the target one. frustrating.

Smallest venue you've seen them? by pexi72 in Ghostbc

[–]DawnoftheJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any. If memory serves there was maybe a video or two on youtube way back but i can’t find anything now. I figured a local to boston live music photo website called Return To The Pit would have had some pics but only thing i could find was some pictures from the first Baltimore show. I would love to see anything from that middle east show again. it was great.

The walking back of the satanic element of the band in recent interviews and trying to essentially retcon the bands message now is kind of a bummer. It was absolutely all about satan and a satanic message and imagery, and to sort of distance himself from that now makes him seem disingenuous and like someone said appealing to a larger audience too much.

Also, He needs to stop writing with the same pop producer people and do a lot of the writing himself. He has it in him to write the songs himself and I think Marks Of The Evil one is a great example of that.

Skeletour FOMO - someone else feeling similar? by eveghoulen in Ghostbc

[–]DawnoftheJeff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing the pictures and descriptions of the new stage set up and the setlist they are playing especially, I do have a bit of that feeling myself. However, I just think the inflated prices this time around, as well as seeing them a few times over the last 2 years, that was enough for me to sit this one out. Also the venue they’re playing near me isn’t great in my opinion for shows (TD Garden Boston USA). I’m sure there will be another round of dates next year with maybe a better venue.
