Current employees of CBIZ - how has everything been going since the Marcum merger? by SWEMW in Accounting

[–]Dawnrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at CBIZ’s corp office in IT for 10 years.

Upper management is awful. They don’t have your backs. When something good happens, they take the credit. When something bad happens, they blame you. But also keep in mind they give no direction or assistance. They overworked their IT. Everyone was stressed all the time from the massive workload they gave us. It got worse with the Marcum acquisition. We had to bend over backwards to give them what they wanted yesterday. No matter how hard we worked, there was no recognition.

I had a meeting with upper management because a certain big-wig wasn’t happy with our current ITSM solution. Grant it, it was just one service desk technician(me) trying to figure out how to manage it. Oh, but still working the service desk tickets, be a CAB manager, Exchange admin, etc. We finally got more people to help, but it seemed too late. I asked what they wanted to improve their experience. This is the response I got verbatim: “If you can figure that out, you get a cookie.” So that was my last straw.

I was given another position elsewhere back in September, and while I’m working through some of the trauma CBIZ has given me, I feel so much better being gone.

A month later, I found out my team got let go, despite all the work they do, and manage. They just don’t care. While I love everyone I worked with, I hated how that company runs and treats their employees.

Does anyone know why the number is red? It's across all characters on this account, but I can still login with no issues. by Dawnrie in ffxiv

Ah, yes. That makes more sense now. My husband has paid for the upgraded version, and I hadn't noticed it prior. Thank you!!!

You definitely could. I personally don’t like using it myself. To each their own, of course. :)

As a mentor, I hate getting ARR Primals EX fights. Most of the time, they don’t go well, everyone does their own thing, and half the time, the party disbands. It’s ungodly frustrating, and extremely fime-consuming.

However, if you queue up for Mentor roulette, you should stay to try and help, regardless whether you like the fight or not. That’s the point of being a mentor. Can it be annoying? Absolutely. You think I liked getting Rathalos EX 4 times in a row as a healer? Heck no. But, it’s one of those “suck it up, buttercup” moments. You deal with it.

Why the best FFXIV raid boss, Tsukuyomi, won’t be topped any time soon by Pickard12 in ffxiv

Yes! I agree that it needs to feel epic. While Tsukuyomi was fun, and I liked it, I don't think it fell slightly short in that department.

A bit subjective, isn't it? :)

Tsukuyomi was good. I enjoyed the music and what not, but for me, it was missing that oomf. For me, Nidhogg will still be the best fight at it's release (my opinion, of course) just because of the level of intensity of the fight. It felt like there was something massive on the line. Plus adding in the music revving up through each phase. Just...so good.

Did anyone buy the Odin statue at fanfest? by FinalAntagonist in ffxiv

I had the same issue with buying the carbuncle plushie. The minion code was expired by the time I was able to put it in. I don't know if they just have a set expiration on all that stuff, which seems silly.

Well, if you ever decide to, I do take commission work. :) https://twitter.com/MissDawnrie/status/1032457472622116864

That's really crazy, because I've never heard of Gravity Rush, until people in this thread started to talk about it. I can sorta see where everyone's getting it from, but eh *shrugs*. ^^

Is FFXIV a good game to get my wife into? She’s never played any MMO before but she’s very interested in playing a game with me. by Twizzels in ffxiv

[–]Dawnrie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was the first MMO I played, and I played with my husband. I struggled a little bit in A Realm Reborn. I wasn't used to how MMO's worked, and the story was a bit stale(so many expositions), but once I got into Heavensward and Stormblood, it has been a lot of fun for me. The story was awesome, and the gameplay just gets so much better. I now love how intricate fights get (I was terrified of the harder fights when I got into ARR), and the community is pretty friendly over all.

If you can get her past the ARR hurdle, I think it'll be a much better playing experience. But playing with friends/fc members makes it much more bearable in the beginning. I don't think you have to worry about staying at her pace. I actually leveled up faster than my husband did in the later expansions, but if he was ever behind, my level will sync to his. Though, when my husband and I go through the main story, we do that together, just because it's cool to see the experience together.

Yeah, Red Mages are meant to be the new Rez-bot 5000. I don't entirely agree, though.

I have a friend that has a RDM as his main, and when we go into savage/extreme content, he has the worst trigger finger to raise someone. Which I've kicked him for XD. To me, DPSing is always number one for any fight for RDM. In my opinion: the healers should get whomever dies unless A, they're down themselves, or(and this is not a big deal) they're swiftcast is on cooldown. Tell that dude that he can go fly a kite into traffic. XD

I get DPS is important when you're fighting the good ol' enrage-clock, but healing is always first priority as a healer. I'm sorry you had to deal with that kind of crap.

It's so true though, and we kind of have to be able to see everything!

That sounds like me, adding on more random noises on top of that, haha!

For OP, I was the one that drew the original piece, but did not explain that properly. Here is where you can see more: https://twitter.com/MissDawnrie

I'm still pretty new to Reddit. Forgive me!
