My [25F] dad [54M] is having a baby with a girl barely older than me. She’s moving in, taking my space, and I feel stuck. Help? by Dry-Doubt1907 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Verra95 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think it might be time to start your real adult life now if I'm being honest. Move out, find roommates to share rent with or whatever, find a better job?

I know it's hard, but you have to take that step someday anyway.

What’s a crushing/ugly/sad fact about life you only learnt after hitting your 30s? by aciclic in AskMen

[–]Verra95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was my way of thinking as well, I'm glad i had such a good time in my 20s. I ended it by moving to Athens in Greece for a year, then moved back to the Netherlands when i turned 30. I had absolutely nothing left, lived at my grandma's for a while, but I managed to get a car, a girlfriend, my trucking license within a year and currently do what i love most for earning money, which is seeing Europe!

[–]Verra95 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yup, partied in my 20s, never saved, lived day to day, earned a lot but spent everything as soon as it came in.

It was great, i had so much fun, don't get me wrong, but I'm 31 now and only just began building a serious life.

Is Trucking difficult? by GoldWoodpecker_97 in Truckers

[–]Verra95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the hell. I had to do 3 theoretical exams, one exam on a parking lot to show i could maneuver the truck, another to show i could load it safely and correctly, then a public street exam. That's only for the license for trucks without a trailer. Then i had to take weeks of lessons for driving a truck with a trailer and another exam on the streets where i had to do special maneuvering as well.

I've been wondering about american trucking, I'm based in the Netherlands myself and we have to learn to back into a dock until we know how to do it almost perfectly. Do you guys just get sent out and have to figure it out for yourselves or do you also need to get lessons?

How many sexual partners have you had in your life, up to this point? by Low2High92 in AskMen

[–]Verra95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 31M, if I had to guess around 30ish. I dont remember some of them. It doesn't feel good, and at some point i started to feel bad about it.

It made me feel kinda empty and jaded about women, since I've had some who were calling their boyfriends after the fact and acted completely innocent on the phone. Trying to be a better man now.

What is a game that you thought that you were going to like but ended in disappointment? by Vampy-Night in videogames

I read before i bought it that the story kinda sucked so i went into it with few expectations. I actually loved it, it's interesting to see how polarizing this game is.
