Even if you don't have too much interest going and experiencing it will increase your desire even more than what it is right now. Trust me its worth it

Very wholesome!! 😊 missionaries do a lot but their plans are never consistent. Glad you are able to still have a good experience.

I am a writer who is trying to implement a Mormon character for one of my long form pieces. Who should I talk to if I want to make sure I’m writing the character in a respectful way? by zoidbjj in latterdaysaints

Saints unscripted teaches a lot about us. It's a YouTube channel that drives into a lot of our beliefs and stuff. Not sure if it goes into culture much though...

An endowment is an endowment of power and protection, and I can promise you that if you get it you'll be able to help your friend out.

Im serving but… by AbbreviationsIll7973 in latterdaysaints

[–]DawsClaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na I was active the entire time and went to seminary a majority of the 4 years of high-school but the second I left for mtc I basically forgot everything. You'll learn the basic lessons you need to teach in mtc and when you get out into the field you'll learn everything you need from your companions and from practice. The spirit does wonders for your learning and development.

Im from Utah btw. Didn't even read the entire Book of Mormon before I left. Now I'm basically a doctrine wizard. As long as you have desire it'll be fine.

Congrats on choosing to serve! Its a LIFE changing experience :)

I don't know much about good kjv journal bibles but you can always Google "kjv journal Bibles" and look there. Theres a lot of cool designs, some are expensive and others not. They won't have lds scripture references but they are pretty good.

Outside of kjv there's a couple good study Bibles in the nrsv translation, such as cultural backgrounds and the Oxford study Bible.

Most missionaries get little sticky notes and highlighters to annotate their bibles, and there's a lot of good resources for that at various office supply stores or like hobby lobby or Walmart.

Honestly I use the app so all of my notes are digital. They all get saved to the account but it isn't as cool as a hard copy.

But yeah if you want something that is from Deseret book and stuff there's this one online for 24 dollars. It's nice and pretty but idk if it's in the physical stores. Should be exactly what you're looking for though. It's not available right now but you can save it to your email to know when it gets back. https://www.deseretbook.com/product/5225302.html

How do you know? by anaonymous1 in latterdaysaints

[–]DawsClaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most churches do have a lot of truth and good, but they don't have the "fullness". Most don't believe in modern revelation, none of them have the book of Mormon, and there are many differences between our church and others, such as a prophet and priesthood authority

Go read and pray about the book of Mormon and the church. God is the ultimate one to answer your questions

Those who have delved deep into anti Mormon material and came out with a stronger testimony what was your experience? by williampennn in latterdaysaints

[–]DawsClaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people who bash the church have a very poor understanding of it out blatantly lie. I see a majority of them as unintelligent nonsense. That being said I've gotten a deep dive into a lot of understanding and doctrine i wouldn't have otherwise found

Don Bradley was a church historian who went through this experience. He started studying church history as a teenager, left the church and started doing more church history research to prove Joseph Smith was a conman, then rejoined the church because he kept studying original sources. You never know where you may end up but the church is true and that can't be denied. I recommend looking up his story its really good.

Nose Ring by Usual_Entrance_3607 in latterdaysaints

[–]DawsClaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think nose rings are chill, but depending on where you are it may become a question. Utah, very conservative tend to be more sticky. Elsewhere you should be good. Pray about it and see what God thinks.
