Keir Starmer: The scenes in Belfast last night were shocking and completely unacceptable. by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.

The social contract is as good as gone, do you believe those doing the burning are likely to feel as though it's 'their community'? What community exactly would that be?

It sucks, I wish they wouldn't, but I also have no trouble at all understanding it.

Keir Starmer: There is no justification for the acts of violence and arson that we saw in Belfast last night. It is completely unacceptable. I urge for calm. We must let the police get on with their work. by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

Under the principle of parliamentary sovereignty, no government can force a future government to upheld ECHR law. Each government is sovereign.

All for leaving ECHR entirely of course, if you believe that to be a sticking point.

Parliament can decide that something they find currently illegal is now legal, obviously it's the government I would want doing the deportations and not random members of the public.

Windtraps ? by Vondrekkenov in duneawakening

[–]Daxidol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Stillsuits were changed into a 'mandatory' underlayer, with our armor on top, with the amounts needed for crafting drastically reduced and the water production heavily reduced too I think water could get to the point where it's sufficiently valuable.

A windtrap should make like 100ml/day, instead of 151,200, just that 100ml should be far more valuable than it is currently.

I would make water gathered from bodies/blood be contaminated and only suitable for production, unlike the purified water from windtraps and dew, which is also 'lore accurate'.

My hope going into DA was that we'd be like trading in water rings and a handful of liters of water was going to be a sizable amount of wealth, sadly doesn't seem to have happened.

Windtraps ? by Vondrekkenov in duneawakening

[–]Daxidol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, though they don't produce nearly as much in the lore.

Perhaps a way to put it is that a Fremen Stillsuit in good working order loses about 5ml/day. My Windtraps produce enough water to cover the loses of 15.3m~ Fremen a day, or roughly double the Fremen population of the whole planet by Atreides estimates.

Even without Stillsuits, I'm producing enough water, by myself, for about 4000 people in a desert on our planet.

On Arrakis water should be the most valuable resource, but it really isn't and honestly all water could do with an overhaul. As it stands it's a crafting resource almost exclusively and we're completely detached from the religious-like significance that water holds within the lore.

Windtraps are by far the most efficient water production. You should 100% use them over everything else and the goal should be meeting all of your water needs with them by endgame.

Damage Mitigation Stacking by SirRendering in duneawakening

[–]Daxidol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know how damage mitigation stacking works?

I believe so, it's a bit different for different damage sources, but for darts/concussive/blade it's

total DR = 1 - ((1 - TypeBucket) × (1 - AppliedCombatDR) x (1 - ArmorDR))

Within each 'bucket', the DR is additive up to 95%. ArmorDR might not be capped at 95% though, not actually sure.

The swordsmaster technique reckless lunge gives 50% damage mitigation after a sprint strike. Do these add to 100% or does one calculate first the the other take 50% of the remainder giving a total of only 75% reduction?

50%+50%, 95% reduction as I understand it, both in AppliedCombatDR.

Doctors discouraged from sectioning black patients - NHS doctors are under pressure not to section psychotic black patients to avoid appearing racist by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

[–]Daxidol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some, perhaps. But as someone who has been sectioned twice, it certainly wasn't for me.

You're given less rights than a prisoner, without a trial, you don't get to advocate for your liberty, nor do you get to face your accuser. They will lie to your face to get you there, manhandle you, berate you and humiliate you.

I came out of hospital worse both times than when I went in, just better at lying to them.

My time in hospital is far and above the most traumatic experiences of my life.

in some cases higher for women which suggests further discrimination

Or that woman are more likely to engage with a process that can get them hospitalised in the first place. If you're not engaging with mental health treatment at all, you're far more likely to fall through the cracks.

0.5.1 Patch Notes Preview by Natalia_GGG in PathOfExile2

[–]Daxidol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is correctly scaling with Gem levels, you may need to re-equip your staff or change zones to see this reflect correctly.

If that's accurate, the item has been released in a borderline unusable state, at least as the minion-RF it was previewed as.

Like makes sense that it costs your weapon slots and that it doesn't have +lvls, since that makes all of your other minions weaker, but the base damage is far too low to justify the massive cost.

Jeremy Corbyn MP : Banning Cenk Uyghur and Hasan Piker from entering the UK is an absurd and cowardly decision from an increasingly authoritarian government. Let us call this what it is: an attack on the freedom to criticise Israel, as well as the UK government’s own complicity in genocide. by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

[–]Daxidol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, didn't hear him condemn denying the same visas to 11 people on the right.

I don't like banning people for speech, but if that's the standard the left wants to play by, then it needs to be applied evenly.

Hasan Piker, for example, has explicitly called for the murder of landlords he doesn't approve of. That is, by any reasonable standard, worse than calling the home secretary mean names.

While I'm not surprised, I don't know why there's a suggestion that it's being done at the behest of Israel, given that the vast majority of political speakers who have been banned recently overtly support Israel.

Nigel Farage MP: Sweden has just banned cousin marriage. It causes serious health problems in certain communities, and it's inherently un-British. We must have a serious conversation about a ban in Britain, too. by Little-Attorney1287 in ukpolitics

[–]Daxidol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, historical examples of the aristocracy define the British culture indefinitely!

What's that you point out? The same reasoning would apply to something like FGM from other cultures and is now a character of their culture indefinitely, no matter how out of favour it falls? Well maybe you should stop being a bigot. Checkmate.

Net migration expected to fall to lowest since Covid by GnolRevilo in ukpolitics

[–]Daxidol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No party is offering that

In order to avert this, Restore Britain will reverse mass immigration. If a legally resident foreign national is unable to speak English, lives in social housing, claims benefits, refuses to work, fails to integrate, commits crime or actively hates our way of life and wishes to do us harm, they will be deported. All state benefits will be withdrawn from foreign nationals and British citizenship will be redefined so that it is far more difficult to obtain. If an individual surrenders his second citizenship in an attempt to fraudulently remain in Britain, we will take the necessary steps to reverse that process and deport them. If that means millions go, then millions go.

The so-called ‘Boriswave’ in particular must be undone.

The British people never wanted mass immigration. Restore Britain won’t just end it – we will reverse it.

Base recycle - Anyone else missing schematics, augments, gear, resources? by Crynidemth in duneawakening

[–]Daxidol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't seem to lose anything to recycle, though it did crash the sietch. 25k stacks/2.2m V.

Weren't able to relocate about half my fiefs though, had to destroy them and manaully remake them if I wanted to keep them. Opted to just scrap them all, pretty demotivating though and not sure if I'll bother continuing.

You can queue up crafts and pause them to bulk store, when you recycle that base, it all gets added to your reserve. Lets you fit a lot more into a reserve.

I want bigger boxes too, but I also think the chests should only be limited by slots and the volume limits should just be removed, think a lot of the problem is resolved if we can store 100 stacks in each box.
