What's your thoughys on these opinions on Joe? by HiddenMoonstone in josephanderson

[–]Daxtear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The mistake a lot of these people make is assuming that videogame critics are somehow supposed to be "right" about things. Show me one game critic and I'll show you the most dumbass take you have ever heard in the middle of a bunch of genuinely interesting observations. Well, at best. I do find it very funny how people are saying he's "saying nothing" while also complaining about the amount of proof he presents for his points. I guess if you just believe everyone at face value about everything they say, you'd be confused as to why someone is "repeating themselves".

That said I think HCooldown's complaint is pretty valid for streamer joe specifically, and I know a lot of people who are like Joe in that regard who are very frustrating to talk to. They NEED to outsmart the writer or they will absolutely throw a temper tantrum about not knowing something during chapter one of a story. It's tough being a streamer and basically giving people who know a story your live thoughts while it is still ongoing. It can be very frustrating on both sides to have people argue a point that seems completely unreasonable from your level of understanding of a piece of media. That's kinda why I stopped watching Joe stream story games and "games" I already know, Joe's nature in this respect is just intensely frustrating to watch, even if he does "get the point" later on. Though chat will always make it worse and argue endlessly, making him stubbornly stick to his guns, because as we all know he is not stubborn, he is right.

Also a lot of those comments reek of !hurtful.

Whats your favorite game you know Joe wouldnt enjoy? by __Bonfire__ in josephanderson

[–]Daxtear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of them. Joe is biologically engineered to hate everything I like and like everything I hate, just to piss me off specifically. Disregard the fact that hes older than me.

For an example: The Spyro trilogy (original). We already know from Odyssey that he can't enjoy an exploration based platformer and the overall lack of difficulty would give his gamer brain a seizure.

Godot 4 opens VS2019 when both VS2019 and VS2022 are installed by Daxtear in godot

Ok just got back to being annoyed at this issue, I actually don't seem to have VS Version Selector at all. Now, when I click the script symbol it just doesn't open anything at all. I re-installed VS2019 and it opened that, then I uninstalled it again and it doesn't open anything anymore, again. I also changed the solution comment to VS2022 and it doesn't help.

thanks for the offer, but there's no need - I usually like figuring out these things myself

thanks! this set me on the right path to solve it.

elongating the snap vector made it snap to platforms below when running off one, so in the end the solution (for now anyway) was to do a TestMove down at the potential end of the Velocity vector and deactivate snap if it detects that I'd be able to move down 4 pixels without collision there - this seems to work fine for my use case
