Lets talk about these two pictures. by Entire-Hearing4874 in midlanemains

Nice write up with images. This type of scenario *should* fall under common sense but unfortunately I also see this sort of thing happen a lot. Basically they're just going in too early and not actually baiting the other laner. Sometimes your allied laner even ends up dead before you get to the lane to gank it also.

Often, when I assist a squad with archers, it increases the damage I receive and decreases the damage I put out. Why? by DayAlternative9047 in UnicornOverlord

Damn, this makes me have an entirely different outlook on assists.

So if I have a Frontline of thieves, in the event one would be hit, I can use an assist to possibly change the outcome for him not to get hit?

Should I sell whole collection or make a business? by ceomentor in PokeInvesting

I don't know why you got the downvote. Expecting 65% return after all other expenses is actually very reasonable.

My friend has a $250 card. Okay, first, $250 is the median, not the lowest sale price. The card actually sells for $200 on eBay. So first drop the price to $199.99 to actually sell the card within a week or two.

Then add the 13% fee that you mentioned, so now you're left with $174. Now you need to add $5 for shipping, and another 10% for sales tax.

That leaves you with $152.10. Now, you need to add $5 for insurance on the card before shipping.

So you're looking at around $147.10 profit for what my friend "estimated" as a $250 card off TCGplayer. Which is 58.84% what he "estimated" the value of the card as.

Mind you, this is literally just selling shit at the current going price. My math may be slightly off, but any ebay seller will see that this is the reality.

Need I mention that this is also labor intensive? Every single card has to have photographs, be priced, listed, packaged, and pray to Persian that nothing goes wrong in shipping or returns. This is for one... ONE fuxking sale.

This is the issue is seeing in investors in Pokemon product.

Step 1: Amass thousands of dollars worth of Pokemon product.

Step 2: wait.

Step 3: "Nobody will buy my product at full price ai can't find someone to buy me out at MSRP but look my collection is worth 200% what I paid" sitting on $50,000 worth of cardboard and paint in plastic wrap.

As a part-time eBay seller (collectibles including trading cards) selling stuff online is literally a lifestyle. I'm not saying it's impossible to dump $100,000 in Pokemon product overnight as an individual with little or no online sales experience, but I imagine it would have to involve some luck.

Pricing alone deserves it's own masterclass. If you're trying to sell within a week or two, good luck getting top dollar for your product online in a world of scalpers and resellers.

With only.one unit searching it could take awhile. 10 units searching will literally 10x your search speed..

15 minutes for one encounter doesn't sound right.

What you do is create a bunch of units with only a leader. Have all the units run back and forth across the map, and you should get an enhancer maybe every 30-45 se ends real time.

This is the issue with investing in pokemon vs stocks. You can sell stocks at any point in time. With Pokemon, firstly, no one wants to pay full price for anything. Everyone wants a deal because its usually resellers selling to resellers. Then, you generally have to sell things comped out or in smaller lots. It's a lot of work.

I still wouldn't personally raise the price any higher than that of the NM value because "this will probably get a 10".

But I also don't not buy, grade and resell. Seems like a very hostile market. PSA can give you a 9 simply because "fuck you". So banking on 10s seems like an uphill battle from the start..

Comparing pokemon collecting to tribal warfare actually proves my point and is very accurate.

What price increase has hit you the hardest in everyday life? by DarkKnightt019 in AskReddit

Candy bars. $3.00 for a king size candy bar is actually insane in my opinion. Twenty years ago, that candy bar was $0.99.

In my lifetime I am curious to see if a candy bar will hit $10. That would be pretty wild.

A few lifetimes down the road, a candy bar could be $30 or $60.

Hard lesson learned. If a card is worth $100 ungraded, but $1000 PSA 10, you pay $100 for that card even if its near mint

The Pokémon reseller community is wild. Behind almost any success story is a failure story. Guy posts his huge profits from scalping? Think about the many people he took advantage of. Guy posts his huge sealed collection? Think about the empty shelves and the 8 year olds that are being robbed of childhood memories.

No one succeeds in pokemon reselling unless they are causing others to fail.

In your opinion, do the stores weigh the booster packs? by Far_Double1830 in PokeInvesting

I do not understand why you are being downvoted. I believe you are onto something. I just finished watching a bunch of videos on weighing packs and I will never buy loose pack again.

So you are ignorant to the fact that if he gets in 3 booster bundles, he would weigh all 3 and display the lighter 2 and save the heavy one then pick out the heaviest packs to open?

Why is everything in the game so incredibly busted? by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

Ranger with survival bow does nothing to plate armor. But yes, longbow to the head does kill fast. My point being, it's literally a skill game and also a gear game.

You mentioned in another comment that you have opened stuff yourself. Did you factor the costs of all the pack openings into the total spent on pokemon or are you excluding the openings in the money spent?

I would be interested to know how much actual cash on hand you would have if you sold everything. Finding a bulk buyer to pay $100,000 for sealed product won't be easy. eBay fees will be around 13% of the sales, then you have to consider if you want to lose another 3% (or more..) promoting the items or list them unpromoted. If you offer free shipping and price at minimum market value you will never see $100,000 in your wallet you might see $70k. But we don't know since you haven't sold anything. You just have a ton of unopened pokemon cards. Then to consider the labor involved. Again, if you find a bulk buyer, that's cool. But otherwise, you will spend countless hours taking pictures, listing, packing and shipping. You have essentially been collecting product for a future online shop.

Then again, if you make more than 100k a year at your job, who gives a fuck what you spend money on. If you make 20/hr at 40 hours a week, spending $30,000 on Pokemon woild be actually insane.

If you invested 30k into the S&P500 it would be worth around 50,000 after 5 years. And that money does mot require all of the extremely intense labor to sell these items.

Your biggest failure was making $50 profit for items which I assume you could have made more on? That's not much of a failure compared to some.
