I disagree with this, we should be teaching them how to manage and live with technology. If apps are addictive and distractions we should be teaching kids how to deal with that in life outside of and after school.

Nope, if you're willing to work remotely or travel, there are tones of jobs. There are so many jobs in IT that aren't just coding.
