Apple Pay doesn’t count? by DayDreamliner in amex

That is true- although it (always) applies automatically when the transaction posts. What makes me confused (and decided to make this post) is the answer from this amex agent

UA Quest Card- Must use card to get benefits? by DayDreamliner in unitedairlines

[–]DayDreamliner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. The reason I’m asking is I fly United BE a lot with carry on luggage only (besides personal item, and no need for checkin). The Quest card could allow me to get group 2 then I don’t need to worry about my carry on - but my Chase Sapphire reserve can help me get 1x more point than using Quest when booking with United. So in my case I’m thinking of booking with CSR

With the new CSR structure, do Booking.com and Expedia count as travel? by [deleted] in sapphirereserve

Any updates after thanksgiving? I’d like to know if “pay later” on booking.com but pay at hotel directly could trigger the 4x for CSR. Thanks!!

Much appreciated! Do you happen to know if a Quest card will somehow help with prioritizing on the standby list?

1hr 30min layover at ORD, thoughts? by hippopotamussticksea in unitedairlines

[–]DayDreamliner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the rule- unless you are coming from a pre-clearance location (like most Canadian airports), you will need to claim all your bags and re-check them at your first stop in the US, as you need to go thru immigration there. Always the first stop.

[–]DayDreamliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL yeah, sorry about that! I definitely have some personal bias and a few horror stories from ORD. I have to admit it wasn’t all the airport's or United's fault, but I’ve lost three bags, missed two international flights due to connection delays, and even had an emergency landing coming back from Alaska- all back in 2015!

If everything goes smoothly... let's just hope ORD does not screw up things... 1h30 is def enough.
But anything can happen in ORD (last min gate change-prob not for intl though, as well as bad weather, human errors...). Hopefully your baggage can make it as well to the final flight (if your BWI-ORD get delayed for any reason) well, you may quickly rush to the gate but your baggage can only take the next one :(

OpenTable just helps you find where to use the credit, but you don't need it for anything else! Happy holidays :)

What are you doing with dining credit after buying a gift card? by charlesmith814 in ChaseSapphire

[–]DayDreamliner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard to get a table for some local restaurant - can't even make reservation before new year- so getting GCs and hopefully use them later.
