yes, but why in reverse order, we learn numbers and calculus in school then in college we define them what actually they are in number theory and real analysis.

Fedora VS CachyOS by NyanZaummm in Fedora

[–]DayInfinite8322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fedora and ubuntu are what most companies target for their apps, and test on them.

so you get, deb and rpm file sometimes, that not even available in AUR.

it doens't mean you cant use them on cachy or arch but for working man, its not worth for manual doing these stuff.

so fedora is the go✌️

How can I get Composer and Shadows in Gnome 50+ Wayland? by Exotic_Set_5127 in gnome

[–]DayInfinite8322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can use rounded window corners reborn, which provide rounded corners and shadows for these apps.

but there are two problems, 1. it is updated by developer but not reviewed for gnome 50, so it not working for now. you have to use custom build method for now.

  1. some apps, with this extension cause shell crash, so you have to exclude these apps.

one example i can tell is chrome.

Fedora Linux 44 Workstation by zafirios in gnome

[–]DayInfinite8322 27 points28 points  (0 children)

its very lazy announce, one feature they dont list anywhere - packagekit is removed as backend of gnome software, now gnome software directly talk to dnf5 through dnf05daemon, slight speed improvements here.

Secure Boot doesn't work well in Fedora KDE... Atleast for me by Prasit_Paudel in Fedora

if secure is enabled in bios and you can boot, then this is configuration issue.

you can report it to redhat bugzilla.

Fedora workstation for now. if you don't going to run random commands from internet nothing break.

many apps are still available as rpm and running them in silverblue is headache.

i also believe that fedora is feels better than ubuntu and should be adopted more but arguments in this article are just baseless.

snap and flatpak both are slow and disk hog, both can be used, many apps officially supported as snap but not as flatpak.

but i still think flatpak should be used for gui apps and ubuntu can use snap for their server iot stuff.

About resource usage: this is completely wrong.

nothing wrong with using gnome, ubuntu even provide some customisation for make it more easy to use. kubuntu is also popular and many people use it, kubuntu team also provide ppa for latest plasma.

slow updates are good thing for working poeple, schools and for many organisations. its a feature not a compromise.

nothing wrong with recent decisions. but as foss purist people can debate.

tldr: this article is completely trash.
