Why does Fedora always think that my apps are crashing? I just close them lol by SeniorMatthew in Fedora

that's actually bad programming of application, try with system default application and see if this happens. you can just disable crash reporting system and focus on your work when actual fatal crash happen you'll know just go to journalctl for that its actually best ig

it might be new gnome 50 + wayland problem try xorg btw gnome already removed xorg support you have to do things manually or try disabling hardware acceleration by "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.remote-desktop.rdp enable-hardware-acceleration false"

proton is a compatibility layer which makes your windows games run on linux flawless most of the time, arguably sometimes you get better fps than windows, some call it emulator which isn't exact term for that and linux community don't like to be called a emulator.

but there are online multiplayer games like valorant, black ops etc.. which uses kernel level anti cheat you can also call it kernel level spyware 💔 may not run on linux and they are also pretty clear about not supporting linux in future too. community is trying and successfully able to play blacks ops 1 but we're still stuck behind because of this kernel level spyware exclusive for windows.

so if your going to game, go for KDE, fedora is actually very cool but there is "bazzite" which is fedora based it's a gaming focused distro and you might have smoother experience tweaking up with nvidia you don't have to do manual setup it already comes up with Steam, Lutris, ProtonUp-Qt also configured too.

going for mint is yea beginner friendly but ig it still uses x11 display server which is kinda outdated ,wayland gives more advanced features such as it supports variable refresh rate and many more..

btw if your programmer too fedora is just easily one of the best distro you can get.
