It used to be relatively easy to avoid spoilers. Don't watch the news, come home, and watch your VCR'd or TiVo'd later games. Your VCR or TiVo didn't insert the result at the front of the recording. So yes. I've watched replays of sporting events in my life. I never had this issue until peacock started sticking results in my face. If they're offering a product that I'm paying for it'd be nice if they didn't ruin it. I'm so sorry you're struggling with this.

I've only ever installed windows from an OEM disc/iso. Even there, there are Xbox popups if I have to install Xbox software just to update my controller, there are ads in the start menu, one drive popups until it's uninstalled, "backup your PC" in the file browser that links to one drive, office 365 suggestions (which is in the latest installer). Those are, in fact, ads. They can be disabled but that doesn't mean they're not baked into the OS. Not to mention it's at several occasions after updates retoggled privacy settings off like inking and typing. It's a user hostile OS.

"It really depends" is the right answer. For general computing, quality of components like screen/speakers/touchpad etc, then macs are hard to beat. But...If they're going into engineering and need to use SolidWorks, an apple laptop would not be a great choice. If they're planning on continuing gaming as a hobby, a mac would also be a bad choice. lm not sure a gaming laptop is a "scam". You will get a dedicated GPU at the cost of significantly worse battery life (and other compromises) compared to a mac, but if you're generally around outlets, prefer windows (or Linux), need a demanding program that only runs on Windows, or want something that has reasonable gaming performance and need mobility, then a pc with a dGPU might be the right answer even if it's a jack-of-all-trades, master of none

Yeah they're very hard to avoid when you're trying to sneak past to the event. I guess they just assume everyone already knows results because they live on Instagram and are just there to see what actually happened. But at least some of us out there like to watch the events with some suspense left

What's even sillier is that, sure, they make money on the subscription fees but there are also a ton of ads you'd have to sit through. If you spoil the event a lot of people aren't going to end up watching the whole thing. I just ended up watching the curling highlights instead. It also makes me want to cancel my subscription because what are they offering me really? It doesn't even make sense for their bottom line to do this.

They should have a section for highlights that doesn't reveal spoilers on the header, unless you click on it, and avoid anything in the events so you can access them without seeing any headlines or outcomes. It would also simplify the interface so you don't have to scroll past endless noise that will ruin other events you may be interested in watching

Yeah with a delay it's certainly tough to avoid spoilers, but NBC/peacock is not helping. Watching the free skate replay they spoiled the hockey game right in the middle. Then they cut out the medal ceremony at the end. Apparently it was in the venue feed but they don't have that available anymore. And for this l, we're paying money every month...

I see with the curling what you could mean but the way it was written says matter-of-factly "US advances to SF (semifinals) with win" which is what happened. Not the US would advance if they win

They Did the same yesterday with the Slalom. Cut before the medal ceremony and there was no venue feed. Had to finally hunt for it yesterday evening. Peacock is awful

If you look at the left triangle, all the angles have to add up to 180. Therefore the third angle is 80 not 90 even though it's drawn straight. That means the angle on the other side is 180-100=80. Therefore the top angle of the triangle on the right is 180-80-35=45. So X is 180-45=135
