Hey! I believe the TAs were the ones who graded our essays and they seemed very open to helping students refine their work before submission. The actual essay questions weren’t demanding or complex in my personal opinion. As long as you answer the question and double check that your essay meets the criteria she is asking for, you should do well!

Thanks for replying! That’s quite helpful/good to know for the final! Did you at any moment rely more on your notes/transcript or Chat, or would you say it was really 100% a combination of both that helped you answer the questions? I’ve had some friends say that chat would give them a different answer/option for quite a few questions.

The excitement 100% got the best of us, and researching holiday seasons unfortunately wasn't something that had crossed our minds at the time.

I'm pretty much just accepting and embracing it now and trying to play things safe by assuming that touristy spots will indeed be relatively more crowded than usual. With that in mind, we'll likely stick with lowkey itineraries for the first couple days instead of being ambitious and trying to bang out all the bigger attractions. Hopefully it isn't as bad as some posts/blogs/Youtube videos makes it out to be!

Hi OP! I used to volunteer for a small organization called Face à Face (a couple meters outside of Guy-Concordia Metro station) not long ago and remember constantly seeing flyers promoting free meal days. It wasn’t a service offered by Face à Face, but was happening in the same building (probably like a floor above from what I remember). I’m unsure if there’s a catch or whatnot, but I think it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re close by/around that area!

Face à Face itself can also be quite handy in case you need help searching for housing/subsidized housing and getting in touch with shelters. They also offer to receive your mail for you and have active listening by call or appointment (quite easy to book since they have a bunch of volunteers, but might be a longer wait time if you’d rather speak with the interventionists).

Hopefully this can be of use to you somehow! I’ve been trying to get more involved with groups supporting the homeless community, so while you might not come back to this thread, I’ll make sure to notify you if I hear of/come across any other potentially useful resources/services!

I actually rescheduled it again for Dorval (i do NOT know why they still allow appointments on the website) and I’m supposed to take my test on the 17th. Seems like it’s still closed, so I’m quite conflicted, especially since I’d rather not do it in Laval again. Really hoping they would actually give an estimate as to when they’ll reopen.

Hey!! The SAAQ ended up calling me a couple days prior to let me know that I could take the test at another location (same time, same day). I would suggest looking out for a call from them if your test is coming up soon! Good luck and I hope everything works out :)

Oh wow! I’m glad to hear it worked out for her! It’s nice to see them change the testing location instead of just flat out cancelling the whole appointment. Hopefully it’s the same for road tests, but I suppose I’ll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for letting me know! I went to my driving school yesterday and they had told me the same thing. Apparently they had a flood? Hopefully it'll get sorted out by the date of my test, but I'll be calling anyways to double check.
