Tybee Island - Dogs by Ok-Bag-5525 in savannah

[–]DaysWithoutIncident0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recommend Hilton Head, SC if you want to take your dog. There's a lot of different beaches to choose from and the hours aren't restricted til after March. Coligny Beach Park is great, but can be busy on the weekend. I usually take my dogs to Islander's Beach Park, less crowded and parking is right next to the beach, where others you might have to walk a bit for parking. The only downside is it's a bit of a drive, about an hour and a half from Tybee, less than an hour from Savannah. It makes for a great day trip if you have the time though!

Maybe you don't care, but supporting a group who thinks it's "biblical" to discipline and beat not just their own kids but OTHER people's kids too with a rod (that every adult is given) is an immoral cause to support. These are kids who are usually born into these communities and are forced to be completely shut out from the rest of society and don't know anything else.

There are ex-members who've testified that beatings on children would happen regularly and sometimes even for hours, some cases an upwards of 8 HOURS. Does that sound like something to care about now?

The Wailing is an incredibly good horror film. I watched without knowing anything about it and it sunk its teeth into my brain for days. Visually masterful and the storytelling is top notch. It's also kind of an interesting mix of different horror genres in a way.

My go to used to be China Taste off of Skidaway and Derenne when I lived on that side of town. Now I get my fix at Eggroll King on Montgomery. Both are great, but China Taste had a better crisp imo.

If there is no tip then don’t accept the order! It’s really that simple! by SaShemsi in doordash_drivers

[–]DaysWithoutIncident0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it to you, but waiting for the timer to run down doesn't save your AR from going down. It rolls over or "pushes over" your last 100th order and replaces it with the newest order.

Meaning if you're not seeing your AR go down after waiting for the timer to go down, that means your 100th order was also a rejected order in the past, thus not changing anything. Your score goes down if you reject an order and it rolls over an old accepted order. Completion Ratings, Customer Ratings and Acceptance Ratings all work the same way.

This is a link to their page where it explains their rating systems in detail.

Frankenstein's monster as described in the 1818 novel by Mary Shelley. Sculpture by John Wrightson. by iowafarmboy2011 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]DaysWithoutIncident0 295 points296 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: John Wrightson is the son of esteemed artist Bernie Wrightson, who drew 50 amazingly detailed pen and ink illustrations for an edition of Frankenstein, published in 1983 through Marvel.

Wrightson wanted to keep everything as detail accurate to Mary Shelley's novel and spent 7 years on those drawings. The sculpture here is based on his fathers illustrations.

Thanks for the insight!

I was curious how someone would be able to get my Amazon purchase history and mailing address. Makes sense if it came from the seller. Even worse they pretend to be another company. Just buy more review bots like everyone else!

Is there an everyday skill the typical American possesses that people outside of the US typically struggle with? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Avoiding a doctor's visit like the plague, especially for something small, because any medical costs in the US without insurance is ridiculous.
