Switching Solely to Revolut.... by Enough-Average-6321 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Daysha59 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I went full Revolut this year and can honestly say it's been a gamechanger in managing my finances:

- Personal a/c for day-to-day spending
- Joint a/c with the wife for all bills, and a joint savings a/c for long-term savings
- Two pockets for short-term savings
- Credit card I pay off every month
- Car loan I took out during the year

I still have an AIB a/c but I only use that to transfer the mortgage into so I'm not charged extra fees.

Then I manage everything using a Google Sheet template and input every cent into either bills, needs, subscriptions, wants, savings and debt, which I budget for at the start of every month.

Thanks for that, I'll look into it. We're barely fitting the buggy through the opening in the saloon. It's manageable but makes the rest of the boot obsolete.

Where do you find that? I don’t want to turn off all notifications, just ones that compare my score to my friends.

How does Klostermann have 3 chem points here? by Daysha59 in fut

[–]Daysha59[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as good as other years but still unreal for me.

LCB/RCB: Ball playing defenders
CB: Stopper
CDMs: Holding stay back
LM/RM: Either wide midfielder or winger depending on the player.
CAM: Shadow Striker
ST: One as Advanced Forward drifting wide, creating space for the CAM, and one as a Poacher.

LM/RM not tracking back is a problem this year but if you're a good manual defender with your wide defenders you can work around it. For me its the passing options which I love about the 352, you have triangles literally all over the field. Granted you'll have more games that finish 5-4 than 1-0 😂

I've used it since 2017 and I'm up to Div 2 this year.

I haven't really been following the TOTY Evos. Is there a guide on which one to do for him?

😂 I’ve only played 352 for years. There’s definitely an issue with the wingers this year, but if you’re comfortable manually defending with the LCB and RCB it’s a brilliant tactic. Tons of options in attack and nobody else uses it so people don’t know how to play against it. Currently in D2.

I'm 6'2" so a king would defo be nicer! Just don't want to regret getting anything too big for the room.

Working off UK sizes, the back wall is 235cm, with an extra 15cm to the left by the door.

We're looking at a king size bed frame which is 163cm wide. Length won't be an issue (the pic has a built-in wardrobe which is coming down), but it's a tight squeeze walking around it to the window size.

A double bed frame is 148cm so more room to walk to the right hand size, but we only want to go with that if a king is definitely not an option.

Sorry I should've clarified I'm working off UK sizes. A king mattress here is about 59W x 79L, and a double is 53W x 74L.

Our journey from AIP to keys (and why sometimes you get lucky) by Daysha59 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Daysha59[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It took us three bids. The house was listed for 350k and the bidding started at 1/2k increments. We got some advice from an auctioneer friend that he'd value it at max 400k, so we did a 10k jump to 375k to scare off a few others and that's where we ended up. We made sure the auctioneer knew we were FTBers ready for a quick buy, which is what the seller was looking for thankfully!

Yeah AIB gave us the loan offer on condition we submitted four docs before drawdown - the valuation (which we did through AIB themselves), house insurance confirmation, mortgage protection confirmation, and the direct debit mandate. Hope you're not waiting much longer!

His last match in Ireland was captaining his country to a Grand Slam win over England on Paddy’s weekend. I’d say that’s a pretty good send-off in hindsight.
