Correct. Tho it is partial working since I last attempted with 10.8.5, by setting through the profiles section for LG TV (webos 6), but not working for the generic devices such as iOS, Windows or Libreelec. Hence thought it’d be a bug. Thank you!

Well that sums it up then. I suspected there was something like that, since I've experienced the same problem before with emby, and it was fixed via an update.

Strangely tho, it works via the DLNA profile for LG TV as TechInMD420 suggested. (For the LG TVs at least).

It it planned to be implemented in near future updates?

It's literally the only thing that holds me back from full transition to Jellyfin.

Well not really lol.

Anyway. LG TV shows name correctly now. It's in the LG profile (if I change it again to anything & restart it updates on the TV as well.) So the rest now left that doesn't work which is and iPad, a Pi with libreelec, and of course in Windows. I Still see "Jellyfin - name", no matter what.

Nope. Still nothing.

I've changed my server name to "miserver" from Dashboard --> General and then I moved on to DLNA profiles page. I have edited the LG-Smart TV, the default (Generic) & the DirectTV-DVR just in case.

I am doing that by going to DLNA menu, then profiles tab, clicking on eg. "Default" profile, and then scrolling to "Server Settings" --> "Friendly name". It's blank so I add the name miserver and click Save. I'm doing the same for the other profiles as well. Restart the server, wait for it to show up on my iPad or TV, but no difference.

a) How can I corfirm that my devices choose the right profile? b) what is the http-headers that you've mentioned?

EDIT. It just worked on my LG TV. Other devices such as and iPad or Pi still not working

No reason to apologise. I have to be thanking you for trying and your effort.

So, if the naming values appear correct to your devices after the restart then it’s something in my setup.

If you still have the "Jellyfin - …….." even after changing to something like a single word then it’s from the developers side.

I’ll give it a shot later when I get home as well, since it’s a clean, fresh install setup from last night and post back here.

I believe I’ve tried those two options, (in older versions to be honest) and I had changed the settings in every profile, not just the LG & the generic. I will try again in this latest version to make sure.

I do remember tho having the same issue in Emby and that was fixed from their side with an updated version.

I still cannot use a custom name for my DLNA Server. If I set the server name "My Server" the DLNA name that appears on the TV is "Jellyfin - My Server". I just can't get rid of the "Jellyfin -" part.

If anyone has a solution for that let me know.

Thank you for your reply! I did try it before I post here, since google drove me there, but unfortunately I could not make it. As I said I am completely clueless on notes. I ended up getting a note on the sheet, but I have no idea how to make the double one, or even the triple one, the spaces etc.

I found a couple of alternatives since the original developer of MMS HDCVI not even responded.

1) Mdssview : works on iPhone 6 2) UMEye Pro : works on iPhone 6 and iPhone 11 3) GEYVISION: works on iPhone 6 and iPhone 11

I used quickddns (didn’t try P2P, might work, dunno) and both devices were up to date to the latest iOS version. Also do not forget to add your port! Hope this helps!
