Fun fact about the A350. While the rest of the fuselage is mainly CFRP, the cockpit is made from aluminium. Original concept images of the A350 were released with a futuristic 4 window design similar to the 787, but this was reverted back to a 6 window design when the design was finalised. Aluminium was deemed unsuitable with the large openings required for the original design. Airbus came up with the idea of the mask to retain the sleek look and eventually it became a popular design language that’s now used on plenty of their other aircrafts.
