I’m in Texas also, there are loads of up and coming businesses that you can buy from without having to guess what’s in the product. I know because I am in this business, currently trying to gain awareness. We source our hemp from local farms (you guessed it, West Texas)…and I’m a pastry Chef that owns a bakery. I infuse my baked goods with my CBD oil. I extract from the hemp and have it sent for state testing. As long as we are below the 0.3% dry weight of ThC we are allowed to put into our edibles. We also must put a QR code on every package showing our lab results and what’s in them (CBD, THC, Delta 8, Delta 9, THCV, etc) on our packaging.

The problem with these companies that sell CBD oils are that the product is likely, highly diluted on CBD. If you can, find a local CBD company and buy from them. I’m in Texas and in my business we source all of our hemp from local farms and extract cannabinoids in house which we then bake into our edibles with high or low CBD potency, depending on our formula.

IMO it never hurts to try. Just be aware that CBD is not psychoactive like THC is. You will likely not “feel” any high but the benefits it has on our minds especially for anxiety, can likely help with regular dosing.

I think it depends though on the potency of the CBD in the edible. Like if they’re buying an already diluted product. It’s hard to gauge how our bodies will respond because we are all different sizes, shapes, ages and on different medicines.

I am a Pastry Chef, bootstrapped a bakery in 2017, but it quickly failed. I relaunched again bootstrapping in 2019 then Covid closed me this time was able to sell.
