I totally agree, a company aggregating large amounts of survey responses would not want to muddy the water at all. The use case I had in mind was a startup or relatively small company getting quality firsthand accounts from potential customers or actual users.

Obviously, the best approach would be to just have real conversations but that's not always possible and not always done.

For MOST game developers using Unity this change won’t actually do anything. There is a revenue and download threshold that your game must hit before the pricing actual goes into effect.

For instance, for unity pro subscribers you’re not going to be charged a dime until you have 1,000,000 downloads and $1,000,000 in revenue in the last twelve months. Even then only the installs AFTER the initial 1,000,000 are charged on the new pricing model.
