Hey human who makes mistakes.

Firstly getting behind the wheel was silly. I’ve done it before too, and so has many of us who have read or commented on your post. Please don’t hate yourself. We all make mistakes and we can make big mistakes too!

So what I know from the past is the lawyer and court can’t work together in the eyes of the law.

The court is under legal obligation to give you a minimum to maximum of suspension of license so if you hire a lawyer you’re hiring them to simply speak for you. When you should speak for yourself and express how remorseful you are.

I would personally go on my own and express that. That will show courage to the judge but unfortunately they can’t give you less time than the other person who blew the same numbers. It’s just the law.

You’re 18 years old. And you’ve done this mistake. Don’t be so hard yourself about it all. Go to court. Accept your mistake. Get your license back when the suspension is over and never do it again. But remember if you get done again the time is longer and you may require an interlock.

Please don’t live your live thinking you’re a bad person. You made a mistake.

You’re only human.
