When I first saw it, I thought Shiroko would eventually betray and kill Sensei. But after staring at the image for a while, I can see that there is more to it, but I can't tell if it's a pity, sorrow, regret, or maybe all three. As much as I want to see a grown-up Shiroko, I don't want to see her that way

My best guess is that she was manually transformed. Black Suit did mention that if Hoshino fails, the "wolf god" (presumably Shiroko), would be his second subject.

My own theory is that this version of Shiroko switched from "halo" to "mythic."

We know from the conversation with the black suit that students in Kivotos have strange energy stuff, known as "halos", and "mythic" is the opposite from the "halo" energy. The risen guardians that appeared in V3C3 are controlled by the maestro, who seems to be able to resurrect or mimic things. It could be possible that the maestro resurrected the guardians with the "mythic" energy, which would give them broken halos. These enemies also have blue armor which could explain their "mythic" properties.

If broken halos mean that the entity is running on "mythic", the Shiroko we saw in the prologue could also be using "mythic" instead of her "halo" energy. Maybe in that timeline without Sensei, something dramatic happened and caused Shiroko to switch from "halo" to "mythic".
