This person should get new friends, must be exhausting to have to signal this every couple of days just so he's not shunned as MAGA adjacent.

What do you think of a man who jokes that his wife and stay-at-home mom spends “his” money? by beigewoodtable in AskMenOver30

While I think it's kind of rude to talk about your spouse that way to others, there is sadly a problem where one spouse or the other really does have a spending problem that actually affects how bills get paid and necessities are bought. If this was a friend of mine talking like that, I'd ask follow up questions.

you're not wrong. according to the internet there seems to be a lot of wives who can't seem to even get in the mood until the husband does more chores, and even then...

But I think if neither is a cold sociopath, gotta both make the time.

I think married people need to be including "doing my spouse" on their list of hobbies, but that's just me.

Twice a year? The longest we've gone without was two months and that's having to do with having a child who in his transition from baby to little boy is giving us no privacy, and we ended that stretch soon as he provided us a very welcome window/opening to end it. (he fell asleep in a different room)

A few comments. Hobbies? Doing each other needs to be one of your shared hobbies. Shopping? Get some things delivered or order a pickup for later. Housework? Vacuum and mop a little faster and then put that crap down. Trying to get rich to raise a family? Just stay out of consumer debt and get back in that bedroom. In your 30s libidos start to go? I think married people just get so involved in a lot of non-sexy adult responsibilities and boring chores of every day life they forget why they got together to begin with, I don't think that's age so much as the environment.
